Adele surprises fan as she helps with proposal during special performance

Adele helped a fan pop the question in an emotional proposal during her two hour CBS TV special, which aired on Sunday 14 November in the US.

The Hello singer, 33, asked her audience for their cooperation so she could pull off a special surprise and explained how couple Ashley and Quentin had been together for seven years.

Before she gave the stage to Quentin and Ashley during the special performance at the Griffiths Observatory in Hollywood, Los Angeles, she urged the audience to be quiet.

She joked: "I need every single person to be really b***y quiet. Let's turn the lights down. If you make a noise, I’m going to kill you."

Adele left the stage as Quentin guided a blindfolded his girlfriend and guided her up towards the stage. She then asked while holding her beau's hand: "What are we doing? What is this?"

As the couple arrived in front of the steps, Quentin got down on one knee and Ashley removed her blindfold and was shocked to see she was being proposed to while stood in front of an audience.

Quentin took her hand and said: "Babe, look at me. Listen, first of all…"

"What are you doing," Ashley asked as the audience giggled. He then went on: "I want to say thank you for being so patient with me. I am extremely proud of you and everyday you blow my mind.

"There's absolutely noting that you cannot do. And I just know that you're going to be an amazing mother to our kids one day and I love you.

"I love you, I love you, I love you," Quentin said though tears. "And I will continue to love you forever.

"Ashley…" He said as his girlfriend broke down. "This is real, this is real. Ashley…"

She then confessed: "Thank God you didn't let me eat I would have thrown up," as the audience let out another laugh.

Quentin then popped the question as he said: "This has been a long time coming. Will you marry me?"

Ashely cried as she asked: "In real life?" To which he insisted: "In real life." Ashely then said "yes" and the audience let out a cheer as the piano tune for Make You Feel My Love began to play.

Adele then appeared on stage and said: "Hello Ashley, hi Quentin you alright?"

The singer giggled as a newly-engaged Ashley looked around in disbelief and she told the couple to go and sit in the front row and "enjoy the show".

Adele then confessed: "Thank God you said yes because I don't know who I was going to have to sing this song to next, you or him!

"Look at her, she's so in shock," Adele then let out a big laugh before adding: "Oh that was lovely, I had a little cry but OK…" She then composed herself and dedicated her performance of Make You Feel My Love to the couple and serenaded the pair.
