Chris Evans is told he was the ‘top answer’ on Pointless
Chris Evans’ Virgin Radio breakfast show was thrown into chaos on Tuesday morning, after his co-star Vassos Alexander revealed the DJ was a the top answer on BBC’s game show Pointless. The revelations sparked a huge debate among the on-air team, as they struggled to get to grips with the rules to try and work out whether Chris’ name appearing on the show was a good or bad thing.
Is it good or bad Vassos?
The former BBC star has long been into his fitness, taking up running and cycling, and he often tells listeners about his exercise endeavours on his show.
He has run the London Marathon five times, crossing the line of 2019’s race in four hours and 48 minutes for Dementia Revolution.
On Monday evening’s Pointless, the contestants were asked a question about which celebrities ran that year’s race and Chris was unveiled as the top answer.
Being a fan of the show, Vassos watched the episode gleefully: “Guess who was the top answer on Pointless last night?” he exclaimed.
Chris shrugged as his co-star continued: “You were the top answer on Pointless!”

The host was a little stunned and demanded to know what the question was before he accepted the flattery or took offence.
“Well first of all, what was the question?” he pressed his pal, as their other co-star Rachel Horne burst out laughing.
While Vassos explained the question, he seemed quite downcast as he remembered he was meant to have run the race but forgot to enter in time.
“I could have been a Pointless answer but I forgot that I actually forgot to enter, so I didn’t actually run the 2019 London Marathon,” he giggled.
Chris spluttered but still couldn’t work out whether it was a compliment.
“I still cant get my head round… what is a top answer on Pointless?” he moaned.
“So, it’s the worst answer that the contestant could give…” Vassos began to expand before Chris interrupted: “I don’t like the fact you’ve out worst in there!” he complained.
Rachel also interjected: “No, it’s not the worst.”
“It’s the highest scoring answer the contestant could give,” Vassos corrected himself.

“But the one that most people had thought of in that particular category.”
Rachel shook her head as she interrupted once again: “No, the pointless answer was that non of the 100 people said you, but you were correct. So you were a correct answer but nobody guessed you.”
“No, it’s the opposite of that Rach!” Vassos insisted.
The pair went back and fourth until Chris looked up the rules.
“No, he’s right,” he said, backing Vassos’ explanation.
“The least popular answer wins and the most obvious answer doesn’t win.”
He quickly added: “But is it good or bad Vassos?”
Vassos shrugged as he opted for good and Chris was adamant to leave the conversation there: “Good, then let’s just leave it there!” he quipped before any more disagreements took place.
