Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know that last night (Tuesday 26 July) England’s Lionesses won an epic 4-0 against Sweden in the Euros semi-finals.
Amongst the fans congratulating the squad and celebrating the huge victory, is the football legend himself, David Beckham, along with his 11-year-old daughter, Harper Seven.
Ahead of their semi-final victory yesterday, David, 47, took to Instagram to share a rather sweet video message. The dad of four congratulated England for their successful 2-1 win against Spain last week, and thanked the team for “inspiring” his only daughter.
The former England men’s captain said, “Hey Lionesses, it’s David here. So I just wanted to send you a message, firstly, to say congratulations on an incredible tournament so far.
“It’s been so uplifting, it’s been so exciting and it’s been so inspiring. And, for me personally, I have a daughter, so for her to be inspired by you girls and your performances has been incredible.”

David added, “We’re all excited to see it and I know there’s one person that is really excited to see it and that is my daughter, Harper. So thank you for inspiring her and good luck girls.”
It seems Harper takes after her dad with an interest in the game. Earlier this year, back in March, David shared a video of him and Harper playing football together for International Women’s Day – and no doubt the England team’s recent hard work and success will inspire plenty of other young girls (and boys) to take up the sport.
David then says in the same Instagram post, “We all know that when big tournaments come around our country, our fans get behind us like no other. It really has uplifted the whole country.”
To date, the England women’s team have been to the Euros eight times, reaching the final twice, but are yet to win the competition. They’re set to play either France or Germany in the Euro 2022 finals this Sunday, and we can only imagine David and Harper will be watching it, cheering them on – as will we!
