Emma Barton, 42, beamed with delight on the way to her first training session for Strictly Come Dancing 2019. The EastEnders actress smiled for the cameras while carrying two large bags before meeting her professional dance partner Anton du Beke, 53. She embraced the glamour of the BBC show as she stepped out in a black T-shirt decorated with a silver lipstick print while accessorising with a mesh covered jacket. The brunette beauty swept her hair away from her face in a ponytail and wore minimal makeup for the occasion.
We’re going to have a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake now to celebrate.
Strictly favourite Anton was also pictured arriving for rehearsals with his new celebrity partner.
The dancer opted for a casual ensemble in blue jeans, a patterned shirt and a matching blue cardigan.
He completed the look with a pair of trainers and a brown leather holdall bag.
Following her debut experience in the training room with Anton, Emma took to Instagram to update fans on her progress.
In view of her 16,000 followers, the pair appeared in a short video to discuss their dance.
Emma said: “Hi chaps! Day one done. So very exciting. My feet are pounding.”
In response to her painful admission, Anton cheekily joked: “Have you got burning balls? Just a question.”
“I do actually, they’re swelling up,” Emma admitted.
Opening up about tackling the dance, the soap star explained: “It has been just brilliant.
“One, I’ve laughed all day, and you’ve laughed.”
Turning to Anton, she added: “In a good way, not laughing at me,” to which the ballroom expert replied: “Oh no, no!”
“Just laughing and lots of humour and you’ve taught me the whole of the routine,” Emma continued.
Gushing about the actress’ achievements, Anton confirmed: “You’ve done the routine.
“You’ve knocked off the routine, I couldn’t be more delighted.”
The duo then revealed how they would be celebrating their successes, as Emma divulged: “We’re going to have a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake now to celebrate.”
“A blueberry muffin, why not?” Anton joked in response.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on September 21.
