EXCLUSIVE: Janette Manrara says Strictly was blessing for romance and curse isnt real

Janette Manrara has spoken out on how Strictly Come Dancing has impacted her life as she called the show a "blessing" on her relationship with husband Aljaž Škorjanec.

The 37 year old, who recently left fans stunned with her new look, spoken out about the popular BBC programme during an exclusive chat with OK! at the Together For Short Lives' Ball – which was sponsored by M&S Food and held in partnership with OK! magazine.

The Together For Short Lives' Ball aims to raise £300,000 to allow families caring for children with life limiting conditions to make the most of the time they have together.

Looking dazzling in a dazzling black off-the-shoulder gown with a thigh-high split, Janette explained that she believes the Strictly curse doesn't exist.

When asked about it, she shared: "No, I don't [believe the curse is real]. So Aljaž and I, when we started Strictly we were just dating. Dating led to being engaged, being engaged led to being married. So for us Strictly was more of a blessing."

The TV personality went on to share how she and the her husband, 31, keep the spark alive as she continued: "We've been married for four years but together for 10 years.

We do a lot of date nights, but our date nights consists normally of a good Netflix film on our couch. We try to go out for nice dinners but it always feels better just being home."

While Janette used to compete alongside her other half on the show, she now presents It Takes Two with Rylan Clark, 33. Although she loves her new job, the star confessed that she does miss putting her dancing shoes on and appearing on stage with the rest of the pros.

"I do miss dancing, I miss the professional group numbers – those dances are so epic. I miss the pros, the crew, and hair and make up, and the wardrobe," she told OK!

"We both did," she explained. "It was kind of a dream come true. I've always wanted to get into presenting and hosting and coming out of Strictly to do It Takes Two is a perfect transition.

"It doesn't feel weird at all, I wasn't nervous. It was more exciting."
