H.E.R. Calls For End To Nigeria’s SARS In ‘SNL’ Performance

H.E.R. used her appearance as musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” to promote the #EndSARS movement, a global campaign against the police brutality in Nigeria.

H.E.R., who debuted her new song titled “Hold On,” was accompanied by a band wearing black t-shirts that read “#ENDSARS,” a campaign seeking to shut down the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) task force in Nigeria.

Recently, thousands of Nigerians have protested against the police task force, blaming them for years of brutality, extortion and harassment.

The hashtag has been trending after an Amnesty International report found that Nigerian police killed 12 peaceful protestors last week.

Several musicians, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj, have voiced their support and called to end the violence against peaceful protesters.
