TV and radio star Anita Rani is married to Bhupinder Rehal, who she met back in 2008. The 43-year-old has since said she feared she was “making a mistake” during the lead-up to their wedding day.

Anita, who is best known for starring on Countryfile and presenting game show The Answer Trap, has shared her concerns in a new interview.

It follows the release of her autobiography, The Right Sort of Girl.

Anti was encouraged by her spouse to be honest about her feelings in the book and during a new chat, outlined her wedding concerns.

Far from painting a false happy ending for readers, Bhupinder pointed out that she should tell the truth and reminded his wife that she was “freaking out” ahead of their big day.

Detailing their conversation, Anita told You magazine: “I was like, ‘I’m going to end with our wedding.’

“But Bhupi was like, ‘Don’t lie and tell them you were happy.

“‘Tell them you were freaking out about it.’

“I felt like I was making a mistake,” she went on to admit.

Anita went on to say that the couple had wanted a quiet wedding, but gave in to the demands of their Punjabi families, who wanted them to have a more traditional celebration.

The wedding celebrations lasted a week and included a Sikh ceremony at a gurdwara in Bradford.

Their reception, which took place in a hotel, was attended by over 450 guests.

Despite her reservations, the presenter said it was “a hoot” but was still a little bit jealous of her brother, who had been able to have a more intimate wedding.

In an Instagram update last week, Anita admitted she was both “nervous and excited” about the release of her autobiography.

She joked that her dog kept her grounded as he couldn’t care less.

“Young Anita, who loved writing, would not believe this moment happened in her life,” she proudly told her 75,000 followers, as she unwrapped the first physical copy of her book.

“Aw, that was such a beautiful moment to share. Congratulations! Will be ordering a copy,” one user wrote in the comments section of her post.

“Amazing work!!” added Good Morning Britain star Ben Shephard.

“So excited to read this,” a third person chipped in.
