James Martin urges followers to sign hospitality petition
Due to continuous rising coronavirus, Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced that more areas across England will be put into Tier 4 from tomorrow. All of the North East of England including area; Cumbria, Cheshire, Warrington, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Blackpool and Blackburn have been placed into the strictest tier.
Following Matt’s announcement, James Martin announced his restaurant, based in Hampshire, will be closed for customers once again.
Taking to his Twitter and Instagram pages, he wrote: “As you can imagine this news today has forced us to close @TheKitchenatCG yet again.
“We would like to thank all our amazing customers for your patience and loyal support with all this.
“The team and I are doing our best to contact all the current bookings and will focus on 2021.”

The chef went on to thank his team for their hard work and support in 2020.
“Without you all we wouldn’t have achieved in 2020 what we have in the most difficult of circumstances,” he added.
Fans of the Saturday Morning star flocked to his post to send their support.
One user wrote: “Sorry you’re having to close again. Let’s hope this horrible virus can be cracked this year so we can have some sort of normality back.
“I just hope the hospitality industry gets support as it’s been decimated over the past 9 months.”
A second commented: “So sorry to read this James. It’s been a hell of a year for everyone in hospitality and other businesses.
“Wishing you and the team all the very best for 2021. Stay safe and strong fella and together we’ll get through this xx.”
“Gutted for you all,” a third wrote. “Yet again.. .businesses being forced to close yet again. When will this stop?”

As part of Tier 4 restrictions, hospitality settings, such as bars, pubs, cafes, restaurants, and social clubs must close except for takeaway, delivery, drive-through and click and collect services.
James and his team had only just reopened the restaurant again on December 2, after another lockdown.
The chef proudly shared a picture of their Christmas-themed outdoor decor as he welcomed customers back.
Alongside a link with a Christmas menu, they wrote: “Make up for lost plans from lockdown 2.0 with a festive feast at The Kitchen.”
Earlier this month, the chef slammed Londoners for “celebrating” going into Tier 3 as he addressed the “devastating” impact it’ll have on the hospitality industry.
He wrote on Twitter: “So many idiots celebrating London going into tier three.
“The knock-on effect to all businesses this close to Christmas is both devastating in the city and out in rural areas, as people booked for Christmas and New Year can’t travel.”
He added: “Hospitality again, gets a kick in food ordered, staff rotated… what a nightmare.”
