Closing out the third night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention on Wednesday, Jennifer Hudson delivered a powerful performance of Sam Cooke‘s “A Change Is Gonna Come.”
Hudson performed the classic 1964 song from the Harold Washington Cultural Center in her hometown of Chicago, accompanied by two pianists and a saxophonist.
The performance came after Senator Kamala Harris, D-Calif., delivered her speech accepting the nomination to be Joe Biden‘s running mate, becoming the first woman of color to be nominated by a major party for vice president.
The third night of the Democratic National Convention, which was held virtually, also featured performances by Billie Eilish and Prince Royce.
