Nightmare: During interview, viewers were distracted by the lipstick smudged across her teeth with many slamming Holly for her lack of ‘girl code’ in not warning Jodie
She told the publication: ‘What annoyed me the most was I was there to talk about freezing my eggs and having a child on my own, which is a really raw emotional subject, and Phillip turned the interview to sex and my exes.
‘He just wanted to be crude and gross and basically just wanted to talk about my exes and my love of sex, and how I’ve admitted in the past I’m addicted to sex.’
The former body builder also admitted that she was irked when, following the interview, Holly insisted in a tweet that she had told Jodie she had lipstick on her teeth.
Jodie clarified to the publication: ‘She [Holly] told me when the interview was finished and we’d cut to an ad break.’
The television personality also detailed her behind-the-scenes experience at This Morning, saying of Holly and Phil: ‘They will not talk to you off camera… you don’t get to talk to them until you’re sitting on the sofa.’
The day after her 2016 interview, Jodie shared to Instagram: ‘Yesterday I was left feeling hurt after what I thought was a bad interview (topped off with lipstick-gate) – Phil seemed obsessed with talking about sex and my exes!!!!!
‘Was that interview outdated, badly conducted and designed to hurt and upset? Or was it just lazy “journalism” ….. Aaaaand should someone have told me about the lipstick?’
Jodie’s comments came after This Morning editor Martin Frizell suggested ex-stars of the show are ‘settling scores’ amid accusations of a ‘toxic’ work environment.
Truth: And now, Jodie has admitted to The Sun that while it ‘p***ed her off’ that neither Phillip warned her of the lipstick on her teeth, she was more annoyed by the latter’s treatment of her
He made the remark as the Chair of the Culture Committee accused ITV of ‘lurching from one disaster to another in the wake of Phillip Schofield’s departure.
Mr Frizell – who is married to TV presenter Fiona Phillips – said to ‘read between the lines,’ adding ‘I think there are some scores being settled’ when asked if there was a toxic culture at the show.
Schofield admitted to the Daily Mail he had an affair with a much younger man at the programme, who he first met when the teenager was just 15.
Speaking on Saturday morning, Mr Frizell denied he was ‘concerned’ about an external review which is to be carried out into ITV after MPs and leading industry figures raised concerns around safeguarding.
He added: ‘All I want to say is I working with a fantastic team of mainly women, many mums, a lot of them concerned for their jobs although we’ve told them they don’t need to be.’
