It’s Strictly final week! I can’t believe how quickly this series has gone by. As we go to press before the show, I have no idea which three contestants will be in the final, but I couldn’t be more proud of our four semi-finalists and I think each and every one of them deserve to be celebrated.
Rose Ayling-Ellis has done so much to bring awareness to the deaf community and seeing her grow has been amazing. AJ Odudu has shown me that, as a Black woman, you can have a natural gift even in an area that is not your expertise.
John Whaite and Johannes Radebe have changed the shape of ballroom forever, they are just brilliant. Rhys Stephenson has shown so much passion and determination. To be in the dance off several times and come back fighting – that is the definition of strength. They’re all winners in my eyes!
Last week, I filmed The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year, which will be shown on Boxing Day. I was on the show alongside Sarah Millican, James Acaster, Jonathan Ross, Guz Khan and Sara Pascoe.
Of course, Jimmy Carr is back as host and he’s so funny – he had us all giggling the whole time and some of the things he gets away with saying are just unbelievable. James Acaster is so damn funny too – the whole line-up is fantastic. It was so much fun to film, even if I didn’t get home until 3am! I can’t wait for you all to see it.

You might have also spotted me on The Jonathan Ross Show in recent weeks. Jonathan’s such a sweetheart and was so lovely about all my accomplishments. It was a great show and I even got to ask Sir Elton John a question – another surreal moment in my life! We’ve all grown up with Elton, he’s such a legend. I adore Craig David and it was lovely to meet Michelle Keegan, too.
During my chat with Jonathan Ross, I mentioned that I’m in the process of buying a house! While there’s a lengthy process ahead of me and I’m in the very early stages, it’s very exciting.
As a single mum, I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be able to buy my own home – somewhere my kids will always be able to come back to. It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to set that kind of foundation for me and my kids because of all of my hard work.
I’ve been following the devastating case of little Arthur Labinjo-Hughes, whose stepmother was jailed for murder, and father jailed for manslaughter recently. You don’t have to be a parent to be moved by this horrendous case.
The particularly sad and heartbreaking thing is that the neglect was missed. It makes you think that, as a community and as a family, if your instincts are telling you that something is not right then you should listen to them. We should all be more aware of safeguarding and what it means.
