Lil Nas X has previewed his new song “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” for a Super Bowl ad for computer peripherals maker Logitech.
The commercial launches Logitech’s DEFY LOGIC campaign. It shows the “Old Town Road” singer giving a shout out to the “makers,” “groundbreakers,” “streamers,” and “dreamers.”
“We stand here in defiance,” Lil NasX says in the ad. “We the makers, we the groundbreakers, we the creators, the streamers, the dreamers. We defy expectations, perceptions and misconceptions.”
With Nas X’s not-yet-released song playing, the ad shows several creative individuals, including artists, podcasters, makeup visionaries, musicians, who are all busy engaging in creative endeavors like drawing, putting on makeup and making music.
“DEFY LOGIC celebrates people pursuing their passions and breaking new ground, despite what current conventions, past precedent or traditional thinking might suggest is possible,” Heidi Arkinstall, chief marketing officer at Logitech, said in a statement.
She added, “By spotlighting the stories of these extraordinary individuals, and on such a major stage, Logitech hopes to support new generations of creators, artists and activists ready to do amazing things that defy logic.”
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Super Bowl LV on Sunday, February 7.
