Love Island makes history by dumping nine contestants in latest brutal recoupling

The Love Island producers have allegedly booted nine contestants following the latest recoupling as Casa Amor comes to an end.

A record number of Islanders were sent packing when the girls returned from Casa Amor, according to claims, following rampant cheating between the couples.

Even host Maya Jama was reportedly present as Casa Amor came to an end, forcing the contestants to make a decision on who to couple up with and who to dump.

Previously, the highest number of participants to be axed at once was six.

A source told The Sun: "Reuniting the two villas was explosive – the recoupling will be a real shock.

"The tension was off the scale – viewers will be really surprised as to who choses who. It's an unmissable episode."

OK! has contacted ITV for a comment.

The alleged recoupling and dumping rumours comes after Tuesday's eventful episode of the reality dating show, which saw Kai having a case of mistaken identity as he thought one of the bombshells was his ex girlfriend and fan favourite Will Young kissing Layla after having seemed pretty serious with his relation with Jessie Wynter.

Will and Jessie seemed to go from strength to strength, but after the introduction of 12 new bombshells in Sunday night’s episode, things took a turn for the worst.

With Jessie, 26, in Casa Amor with the new lads, Will, 23, quickly found himself “gravitating” towards bombshell Layla Al-Momani and he soon kissed her on the balcony.

However, Will, who is the season’s most talked about contestant, seem to have been left feeling in the wrong, as he admitted his exchange "made him realise" how much he liked the Australian bombshell.

Speaking to the other boys in the bedroom later that evening, he admitted: "I feel like a bit of a dog.

"This has kind of made me realise how much I like Jessie.

"I feel like I f****d up big time!"

This is not the only kiss that has happened (outside a challenge) since the start of Casa Amor.

Tanya Manhenga, who has been coupled up with Shaq Muhammad since the first episode aired, was seen kissing and exploring her connection with Martin Akinola. Meanwhile, Shaq has "avoided" the girls as he and Ron Hall have been sleeping on the day beds outside.

Olivia has also been accused of "playing a game" after she ended up kissing Casa Amor bombshell Maxwell Samuda after leaving comments about Kai Fagan and if they're "actually" compatible.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
