Being in the public eye, Naga Munchetty, 46, is used to trolls picking her apart online and the BBC Breakfast favourite has learnt to handle them very well. It comes after she hit back at a Twitter user to who poked fun at her glasses during Thursday morning’s show.
Happy to help
Naga appeared alongside her co-host Charlie Stayt to present the day’s news, wearing a stunning olive green jumpsuit.
She also wore her signature red glasses, but one viewer wasn’t a fan.
Sharing their views on her appearance to the social media platform, the user that goes by the username @jagxjr1 commented: “@TVNaga01 what the heck are those things hahahahaah what an absolute Wally.”
But she knew how to handle the troll, and fired back with a sarcastic response.
“I think you’re referring to glasses,” she snapped.
“Happy to help @jagxjr1.”
Fans rushed to the comments section to applaud her reaction, with one penning: “Well done Naga, perfect response.”
Someone else said: “I’ve been admiring your glasses this morning Naga. I have often noted that when some numpty makes a comment, Twitter always tells me that they are not being followed by anyone I’m following.”
“He’s obviously got sight problems, because I think you look lovely,” a third praised.
A fourth added: “Love your responses to other people’s rudeness.”
While a fifth joked: “You know what, most people wouldn’t take the time in helping someone out in explaining what glasses are. I think that was really nice of you, Naga.”
While she wasn’t giving trolls a piece of her mind, she sent her well wishes to her co-star Martin Colley, who announced Wednesday was his “last shift” after 16 years at the broadcaster.
