Paul Newman’s daughter claimed that ousted Newman’s Own Foundation CEO Bob Forrester had taken their family “hostage” in a damning interview.
Susan Kendall Newman made it clear the family had issues with Forrester before Page Six revealed last week that he had been recently removed over harassment claims.
Susan — one of Newman’s four daughters — told Vanity Fair in 2015 that her family doubted whether her dad’s wishes were being fulfilled.
She also claimed the sisters were supposed to serve on the charity’s board but “had the rug pulled out from under us.”
She said: “There isn’t a single living Newman who respects or has faith in Robert Forrester and his management of my father’s food company . . . There are too many glaring examples of Mr. Forrester’s decisions being out of sync with the beauty and integrity that is essential to my father’s philanthropic legacy.”
Forrester denied this.
Page Six exclusively reported last week that Forrester was removed from his role at the foundation after complaints from former employees.
A legal source said: “It will be interesting to learn what the board members knew about Forrester’s alleged behavior, especially if it was counter to Paul Newman’s values and vision.”
