Like any excited mum-to-be, Lauren Goodger has been swotting up on everything she needs to know about pregnancy, labour and babies.

And as she prepares to give birth to her first child in July, a source close to the former TOWIE star has told new magazine that Lauren, 34, has made her birth plan.

“After looking into it, she’s decided she’s really keen on having a water birth. She loves the idea of it,” our source explained.

“She thinks it looks so calming and from what she’s seen on videos, the women look really relaxed. She thinks it will be the most comfortable option for her and the baby.

“Lauren has been doing a lot of research. She’s a first time mum so she’s doing everything she can,” the source added.

“She’s got a lot of friends who are mums and she’s been getting a lot of advice from them and from her followers.

"She hasn’t completely made her mind up yet, as you can’t fully plan your birth, but she’s keen.”

Many experts believe water births are more soothing for mother and baby and provide some natural pain relief, which is good news for Lauren – who is now five months pregnant – as she’s previously expressed her preference for a drug-free labour.

“I want a completely natural birth,” she explained. “I don’t want any epidural or anything. I literally just want gas and air. The old-fashioned way. So yeah, wish me luck.”

Lauren announced her pregnancy with 23-year-old boyfriend Charles Drury in January.

The pair, who have only been dating since October, said their whirlwind romance ramped up when they said, “I love you” after just three weeks.

They admitted they “couldn’t believe it” when they found out Lauren was pregnant, but were over the moon at the news.

Lauren, who has been open about her previous experiences with miscarriage, has been keeping fans updated on her pregnancy journey.

Last month, she told followers that she had found the first three months “quite difficult” due to sickness and nausea.

Now, the reality star is keeping healthy to protect her unborn child.

“Lauren is focused on growing the baby at the moment and making sure it’s healthy because of her previous miscarriages,” our source explained.
