Sarah Ferguson has said she and Prince Andrew are "bigger than friends" as she discussed their extraordinarily close relationship.
The former couple, who were married from 1986 until 1996, are constantly rumoured to be back together .
Fergie, 59, has now spoken about their tight bond as she revealed how they stuck together to raise their two daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
She told Hello! magazine: "We work in unity and [ex-husband Prince] Andrew and I are focused on being good parents together. We are bigger than friends.
"We learn from each other, support each other and understand it's about communication, compromise and compassion."
Earlier this year it was reported that Fergie and Prince Andrew are 'friends with benefits' .
Much has been speculated about the true nature of their relationship, and it's now been claimed that while they're not completely back together, they are involved in an exclusive physical romance.
Appearing on ITV's Lorraine, journalist Dan Wootton claimed, "They are at the moment in a relationship described as 'friends with benefits'.
"They're not seeing anyone else."
However, one person said to be less than impressed is Andrew's big brother Prince Charles, who allegedly still holds a grudge against Fergie for backing Princess Diana during their split.
"The fly in ointment is Prince Charles, he's not got a strong relationship with Andrew, he was opposed to Fergie for taking Diana's side over Camilla," Dan added.
Fergie recently joined Andrew on a trip to Bahrain with daughter Beatrice and her boyfriend, property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, fuelling rumours that their romance was back on.
However, the Duchess of York denied claims that she's back with her ex-husband.
Her spokesman said at the time: “The Duke and Duchess remain good friends as they have been for many years, and nothing has changed.”
