Steph McGovern, 39, took to Instagram tonight to reveal she’d suffered a surprise injury. The star explained how one of her teeth came out just as tonight’s Euros semi-final match began.
Plenty of celebrities have been posting about their plans for watching the England against Denmark match tonight.
Steph was no different as the star donned an England shirt for her television appearance earlier today.
However, it seems her plans didn’t go quite as she thought as she revealed she suffered an injury just as the game started.
The Steph’s Packed Lunch star posted in front of her 38,000 followers about the mishap.
Taking to her stories, she was pictured holding a tooth in her hand.
She penned: “Just as the match started my tooth came out stuck to a jelly sweet….
“I’m hoping it’s a good omen….”
Steph then posted a crying face emoji alongside the image.
However, the presenter didn’t seem too upset as she joked about her appearance in front of her followers.
She posted a picture of a toothless woman smiling on her Instagram stories as well.
Alongside this, she quipped: “Me on the show tomorrow……”
After the match, she tweeted about her injury.
She penned: “Just before the match started my tooth came out stuck to a jelly sweet.
“I text my dentist – he said it might be a lucky omen.
“Fast forward two hours.
“My dentist doesn’t want to put my tooth back in until after the final.”
The star will be back on her lunchtime show tomorrow where she’ll likely give some more context on what happened.
Elsewhere, Steph has teased a return to morning TV following her exit from BBC Breakfast a few years ago.
She will be presenting the Paralympics Breakfast Show during this summer’s games.
She’ll be on the show with former Paralympic cyclist Arthur Williams.
Steph wrote on Twitter about the news: “My 3.30am alarm clock will be going back on in the summer.
“I’ll be working with Arthur Williams @Arthurvw1986 to host the Paralympics Breakfast Show on @Channel4 #Paralympics.”
This summer the Olympics and Paralympics will be heading to Tokyo.
Channel 4 will be in charge of the coverage of the latter with the broadcaster announcing its presenters this week.
They have confirmed more than 70 per cent of the presenting team for the Paralympics will be disabled.
Other stars confirmed include JJ Chalmers, Ade Adepitan and Sophie Morgan.
