Karen Hauer and Jamie Laing have been a match made in Strictly heaven. Not only have they looked great together with their twinning hair, but the pair have also created magic on the dance floor.
While Jamie got off to a slightly rocky start at the beginning of the series, the Made In Chelsea star and Karen wowed viewers with their epic street dance routine – which saw them shoot straight to the top of the leaderboard with two 10s.
But Karen admits that all the stars have been amazing in this year’s competition .“It’s such a tough year because everybody is absolutely incredible,” she says. “We say this every year but this year is like no other. Everyone is so good and everyone has been pushing themselves.”

Here, Karen, 38, tells OK! about her close bond with Jamie, 32, meeting his girlfriend Sophie Habboo and her plans for when Strictly is all over…
Have you been enjoying Strictly this year, Karen?
I’ve been having an absolute blast. It’s felt so much more special this year. I guess we’ve all been feeling extremely grateful. Strictly brings happiness and joy to everybody, but especially to us who are doing it and entertaining everybody at home. It feels great. It’s felt like I’m opening Christmas presents every day when I’ve gone to rehearsals!
Did you think you and Jamie were a good pairing?
When I found out who my partner was, he came down the road on his little scooter, and I knew right away we were going to have a good time. I just knew it was going to be a special one.

It seems like you genuinely get on very well…
I think we have a lot of respect for each other and we’ve built this friendship. It’s teacher and student, but we’re friends. It’s been an even ground for us.
Do you have any plans to meet the Made In Chelsea gang?
I’ve met Sophie. And a lot of his friends have FaceTimed him, like Spencer [Matthews] and Vogue. They’re very close to him, which is beautiful to see. He’s had such a great support system behind him.
Do you get on with Sophie?
I love Sophie! She’s been so supportive and that means the world to Jamie, and myself.
What’s been your highlight of the show?
When we did our street dance and got our two 10s and topped the leaderboard. We joked that it took me nine years to top the leaderboard! I never thought of him getting down like that! That’s what I love about Jamie, he’s just thrown himself into all of the crazy ideas that I’ve had. He’s never backed down, he’s given it his all.
How has it felt when you’ve found yourself in the bottom two?
It’s hard. But at the same time, if you have a dance you really love, you get to dance twice. We’ve all been supporting one another and you can see it in everyone’s smiles and the way that they clap for you.
What will be the first thing you do when you’re out of yourStrictlybubble?
Oti [Mabuse] and I have become good friends, especially over lockdown, so it’d be nice to go out for dinner. I can’t wait to see my friends too. I miss cooking for them.
