The Pussycat Dolls announce UK reunion tour next year a decade after split – without Melody Thornton

It's been announced that Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta will return to perform as a five piece.

All five members shared the same image of the black and pink Pussycat Dolls logo on their Instagram accounts and wrote: “#PCDReunion.”

The band’s first performance back together will be during Saturday's X Factor: Celebrity show.

However, Melody Thornton will not be returning for the reunion as it is revealed that the band will be touring the UK and Ireland without her.

The nine-date tour will kick off in April next year and comes after another girlband, The Spice Girls, reunited this summer for a nationwide tour.

Ashley said it was "amazing and inspiring" seeing Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Mel C back together.

She said: "The Spice Girls – it's amazing and inspiring that they all – except Victoria – got on stage and had some fun. We have been in the works for years trying to get this together. Really, it was divine timing for us all coming together."

She also said her boyfriend, Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice will be heading on tour with the band.

She said: "Giovanni is definitely going to come. Honey, yes. He is very excited to see us all up there in our outfits. I didn't know him 10 years ago.

"He was in Italy and was aware of the Pussycat Dolls but it's a whole different situation now. He is very supportive and, of course, he is going to be there at the shows."

Carmit said: "We all went to the Spice Girls' reunion tour at the Staples Centre in LA. Do you remember that? It was the first time in ages but Robin [Antin] has been trying to wrangle us together for years now."

And X Factor: Celebrity judge Nicole said she thinks the band will thrive in the current music industry, which has seen a number of bands reunite recently, such as Westlife, Steps and Sugababes.

"I am so excited and we have grown so much. We are here to see each other shine. I think we are going to push each other."
