The Weeknd‘s Super Bowl halftime show is apparently going to be twice as long as any halftime show in the past.
In an interview with Billboard, it was revealed that his halftime show 24-minute halftime performance at the Super Bowl.
“We’ve been really focusing on dialing in on the fans at home and making performances a cinematic experience, and we want to do that with the Super Bowl,” The Weeknd told the publication.
For context, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira‘s Super Bowl halftime show was quite a bit shorter than The Weeknd‘s projected 24 minute show.
This year’s halftime show will have a 22,000-person audience, way lower than the 60,000+ capacity.
The Super Bowl is taking place live from Tampa, Florida on February 7.
