Westlife Croke Park 2019: Tickets, stage times, support, possible set list and more

Westlife are hitting the stage at Croke Park for the first time since their farewell gigs in 2012 on Friday night with a second sold out date on Saturday.

They’re promising something special for their homecoming gigs, having already taken the Twenty Tour across Europe, with a special stage that extends out into the pitch.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of both dates, from tickets to stage times to their possible set list…

TICKETS:

Both nights have officially sold out.  However, there are limited resale tickets available now via Ticketmaster from around €80 each.

Available from official ticket outlet at Gills Corner – the corner of Russell Street & North Circular Road.

The Ticketmaster Box Office will be open from 1pm on show day.

 

STAGE TIMES & SUPPORT ACTS:

Friday, July 5:

Gates 5pm, Wild Youth are on stage at 6pm, followed by James Arthur at 7.05pm and Westlife at 8.30pm.

Saturday, July 6:

Gates 5pm, Wild Youth, 5.45pm, James Arthur 6.50pm and Westlife will play from 8.15pm.

 

SET LIST:

The set list is anyone’s guess as Westlife have stated they have something special in store for their hometown fans this weekend on what are their only outdoor dates on the Twenty Tour.

TRAVEL & TRANSPORT:

Fans are encouraged to walk, bike, or use public transport.  Traffic and parking delays are pretty much guaranteed so allow yourself an extra two hours travel to and from the venue if you must drive.

Dublin Bus

Services serving Croke Park (1, 13, 16, 33, 40/B/D, 41/A/B/C, 44) operating as normal, with complete NiteLink services operating both nights.

Luas

Extra services on both red and green lines both nights.

Irish Rail

Extra trains will be provided.  Friday 5th and Saturday 6th July additional services:

•23:50hrs Dublin Connolly to Sligo

•00:40hrs Dublin Heuston to Cork*

•02:13hrs Limerick Junction to Limerick*

•00:30hrs Dublin Heuston to Galway*

•Extra DART services will operate before and after the concerts. For timetable information please see the Journey Planner.

APPROACH ROUTES:

Croke Park is bordered by Clonliffe Road, Ballybough Road and North Circular Road.

  • Hogan stand via Jones road and Russell Street – Blue Route
  • Cusack Stand via St James Avenue and Foster Terrace – Red Route 
  • Pitch Standing via St James Avenue and Foster Terrace – Red Route
  • Davin stand via St Margaret’s Terrace – Yellow Route 
  • Gold Circle A via St Joseph’s Avenue – Green Route
  • Gold Circle B – via St James avenue and Foster Terrace – Red Route

 

WEATHER:

Met Eireann is predicting sunshine breaking through clouds for Friday with temperatures around 18C.  On Saturday it’s a little cooler with temperatures hitting 16C but it looks like the rain will hold off.  That said, it’s always advisable to have a poncho handy for outdoor concerts in Ireland!

 

AGE RESTRICTIONS:

Under 14s are not allowed on the pitch, either accompanied or unaccompanied and all under 16s must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian.  There won’t be any facilities for babies or small children at the venue and the promoter advises that large outdoor concerts are not a suitable environment for under 5s.

 

FILMING:

The performance on Saturday 6 July is being broadcasted live across cinemas in the UK and Ireland. The broadcast starts at 8pm so promoters request that fans are seated by then.

 

SAFETY:

As usual, do not bring backpacks or large handbags and bags biger than A4 won’t be allowed inside Croke Park.  There will be no cloakroom or storage facilities on site and bags must not be left at entrances or elsewhere.

Searching is a condition of entry.    

Glass or cans, umbrellas, alcohol, garden furniture, selfie sticks, flares will not be permitted. (Full list of prohibited items on www.mcd.ie )
