Mike Posner is keeping a positive attitude while re-learning to walk after a snake bite sent him to the hospital.
“I knew walking across America was going to be dangerous. I knew I could die doing it. I still might. So don’t feel sorry for me,” the 31-year-old musician wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday. “I’m proud I’m in this hospital after chasing my dream and not sitting on the couch watching Netflix. I’m proud of this pain.”
The “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” singer also shared a video of himself, in which he laments the time he’s spent on social media while his life passes by and promises to focus on what really matters going forward.
“If I can get myself out of this broke mood, then maybe all my listeners can have hope too,” he rapped from a hospital bed. “I become who I am through all the (expletive) I go through.”
Posner also shared a video update Saturday, which shows him dressed in a hospital gown and slowly walking with the help of a walker and a nurse.

From 24 miles per day to using this walker to get to bathroom. I’m on my way back. Gonna rebuild with patience and equanimity. HUGE shout outs to Stephanie, Fergie, Bo, Angie, Eddie, mike, dr black, dr van Birmingham, dr Gordon, dr Shapiro, Natalie, carol, Megan, Jeremy, and my whole family in ICU. Molly and her husband from PT are gonna come help me walk again tomorrow. KEEP GOING.

“Got it going,” a voice off-camera told the singer. “Working through the pain.”
“I have to remember how to do it,” Posner replied. “I have to remember how to walk.”
“From 24 miles per day to using this walker to get to bathroom. I’m on my way back. Gonna rebuild with patience and equanimity,” he captioned the video, thanking doctors, physical therapists and others who have helped him while in the ICU.
‘That venom is no joke’: Mike Posner hospitalized after rattlesnake bite on walk across U.S.
Posner announced on Instagram Thursday that, amid a journey to walk across America, he had an unfortunate run-in with a rattlesnake that sent him to the hospital.
He was on a mission to walk across the United States by foot, releasing a new song in each state he crossed into. At the time, he was on mile 1,800 of 2,833, according to his Instagram bio.
“That venom is no joke!” Posner wrote in his initial post. “I got to the hospital and got the anti-venom in time … I’ll be here a few days and will not be able to walk for several weeks but enjoying the AC and the nice bed, haven’t had those in a while Hahahaha! Can’t wait to get back on The Walk!”
