Burna Boy and Wizkid don’t miss — especially when they create music together! The Nigerian superstars released their latest collaboration, “B. D’OR,” on Dec. 14, and it’s a not-so-humble nod to their excellence. “B. D’OR” first debuted during Burna Boy’s surprise performance at Wizkid’s sold-out show at the O2 Arena in London on Nov. 28. And now, the rest of us get to dance along to the classic Afrobeats single. It’s also a nice follow-up to their hit “Ginger” from earlier this year!
The title of “B. D’OR” is inspired by the Ballon d’Or trophy awarded to the best soccer player of the year by the French magazine France Football. It’s fitting considering the success of Burna Boy and Wizkid this year. Burna Boy won best global music album at the 2021 Grammys for Twice as Tall, and he’s set to be the first Nigerian artist to headline at Madison Square Garden in the spring of 2022. Meanwhile, in October, Wizkid became the first Nigerian artist to chart in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 for the “Essence” remix featuring Tems and Justin Bieber. I still can’t get it out of my head!
