Chris Evans has admitted that he is feeling ’embarrassed’ after he accidentally leaked a nude photo over the weekend, as he finally opened up about the incident for the first time.
The Knives Out star has been the talk of Hollywood and social media since the weekend when he posted a screen recording on Instagram of his family playing Heads Up before camera roll grab popped up showing a picture that appeared to be of a man’s genitals.
There was also a picture of him along with the caption: ‘Guard that p***y.’
The Avengers star has finally spoken out about the unfortunate incident during an appearance on Tamron Hall’s talk show in the US.
‘Listen, it was an interesting weekend full of lessons learned. Lot of teachable moments,’ Chris laughed it off.
‘It was embarrassing, but things happen. You gotta roll with the punches.’
He went on to thank his fans for supporting him through the ordeal by making sure any nude photos of him were replaced by wholesome snaps of him and his dog.
His devotees had reminded curious people to avoid looking at the photo as the star suffers from anxiety and that it was best to respect his privacy.
‘I will say I have some pretty fantastic fans,’ he added. ‘What they did was really, really nice.’
Captain America first broke his silence on the matter several hours earlier when he tweeted about the importance of voting.
He wrote: ‘Now that I have your attention…VOTE Nov 3rd!!!!’
Chris also added a ‘facepalm’ emoji and another of a man shrugging in reference to the slip up.
His brother Scott, also an actor, got in a quick dig on Twitter soon after the picture was leaked, saying he had not looked at his phone.
‘Was off social media for the day yesterday. So. What’d I miss?’, he tweeted.
Chris’ Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo had a more understanding response, tweeting: ‘Bro, while Trump is in office there is NOTHING you could possibly do to embarrass yourself. See… silver lining.’
