DC Comics' Joker Documentary Anthologizes the Killer Clown's 80-Year Reign

This year mark’s the 80th anniversary since the Joker was created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson, making his debut in the first-ever Batman comic. To celebrate such a momentous milestone, DC Comics has put together a documentary to celebrate one of the most infamous supervillains of all time, taking fans on a deep dive into his history and story along the decades.

Titled The Joker: Put on a Happy Face, the 35-minute documentary follows the character’s development over the years since his birth in 1940, making countless appearances across comic books, animated series, television, and the silver screen, earning his reputation as the most terrifying, enigmatic, and intriguing villain in pop culture. To give more insight into the Clown Prince of Crime, over 40 actors made appearances in the video, including those who have portrayed him like Joaquin Phoenix, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Mark Hamill, and Jared Leto, as well as those who have worked alongside the Joker, such as Christian Bale, Stan Lee, Todd Phillips, Andrea Romano, Margot Robbie, Frank Miller, and more.
