Katie Price devastated after death of 'best friend and protector' dog Blade

Katie Price has been left heartbroken by the death of her beloved dog Blade.

The 45-year-old star admitted she is feeling ‘numb and shocked’ after her pet – who she described as her ‘protector’ and ‘best friend’ – died earlier on Monday.

She shared a photo of the shepherd dog on Instagram this afternoon, and wrote: ‘Worlds can’t express the lost of my best friend my protector my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today I have no words to say how I’m feeling but numb and shocked rip Blade (sic)’

Fans were quick to respond with messages of support during a difficult time for the former glamour model.

‘So sorry never easy to lose our fur babies,’ one follower replied, while another commented: ‘Nothing like loosing an animal. Sorry to hear xx’

A third person wrote: ‘Awh Katie I’m so so sorry sending so much love.’

Blade’s death comes months after more heartbreak for Katie, when her dog Sharon was reportedly killed in a car accident.

It was claimed at the time that the Pomeranian ran out onto a busy road near the model’s home, when she was hit by a vehicle.

While the driver took the dog to a vet surgery to be checked for her injuries, she’s said to have died following the collision.

A source told The Sun that Sharon’s death was ‘rotten luck’ following the pets owned by Price who have died in recent years.

Her Alsatian named Sparkle died after being hit by a car after venturing out of her home onto a busy A road in 2020, while her dog Queenie also lost their life after being run over by a pizza delivery van, and one of her horses was also killed in a crash.

A couple of years ago, her daughter Princess’s puppy Rolo reportedly suffocated to death after being crushed in an electric armchair, having been left unsupervised.

A petition calling for Price to be banned from owning pets previously surpassed 24,000 signatures on Change.org.

Metro.co.uk has contacted representatives for Katie Price for comment.
