Boy, 7, tells of ‘first time mummy and groom had a sleepover’ in wedding speech

An adorable seven-year-old boy stole the show at his mum's wedding as he told of the first time his 'mummy and her groom' had a sleepover.

All eyes were fixed on little Anthony as he delivered a 'mini best man speech' after Stacey and Robert Robertson tied the knot.

His speech at the Alona Hotel at Strathclyde Country Park on Friday was full of humour but also lots of emotion, the Daily Record reports.

Dressed in a tiny kilt, the cute youngster bravely grasped the microphone to read out his carefully prepared words to the couple from Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland.

The room descended into hilarity after the schoolboy recalled the "first time Rab had a sleepover at my house."

"Before they had a chance to tell anybody I had already grassed them into my granny. Sorry mum and Rab," he joked.

Anthony started off the speech by saying: "I think we can all agree that my mum and her bridesmaids are looking beautiful".

He joked: "And Rab and his best men are looking very handsome…especially me."

Sparking tears from some members of the crowd, the youngster added: "My beautiful mum has been my best friend my whole life and I can’t thank her enough for everything she has done for me.

"And thank you Rab for coming into our lives, you have brought a lot of love , laughter and beer into her home."

Anthony then praised Rab for making the "right choice" by picking him to be his mini best man, adding: "I can’t wait to start our lives together as a family."

In his closing words, all eyes faced Anthony as he read the most adorable lines yet.

He said: "I think mummy and Rab are perfect for each other and I’m now so excited that we’re one big happy family.

"I love you both so much, can everyone please stand and raise a glass to my mum and Rab."

The couple – both 34-years-old – are now enjoying a well deserved honeymoon away to Las Vegas.
