George Russell is only 22 years-old and is already making headlines as he will compete in the Formula One World Championships for the third time this year. But what has the young driver’s career been like up until now, and how much money does he have?
George has an estimated net worth of $1million, according to celebrity sites.
That’s currently equivalent to around £700,000.
It was reported by Fox Sports last year that George’s yearly salary is a whopping $1.2million.
But of all the top racing car drivers in the world, Lewis Hamilton is still the richest, with an annual salary of around $76million.
George was born in King’s Lynn in Norfolk.
He has two older siblings, a sister called Cara and a brother named Benjy.
Introduced to his sport at a young age, George first started karting when he was just seven years old.
He was participated in competitive karting and, having been educated in Cambridgeshire, moved to Milton Keynes after finishing school at 18 to be closer to his racing teams.

In 2011, the racing driver won the CIK-FIA European Championship, before doing so again in 2012.
He stopped karting in 2013 and moved on to racing car driving.
George’s racing debut was in 2014, when he took part in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps championship.
During that same year, he also competed in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship and managed to win the champion title, even after starting from pole position in the final race of the competition.
In 2015, George was one of the 12 drivers selected to join the BRDC SuperStars programme, which is a scheme focused on developing the most promising young British drivers across all classes of racing.
George was the youngest person to ever be recruited to the scheme.
George graduated to the Formula 3 European Championship in 2015, before moving up to Formula 2 in early 2018.
In 2018 also, it was announced that George has signed a multi-year deal to drive for Williams Racing, a British Formula One motor racing team and constructor.
George drove for Williams in the 2019 and 2020 Formula One Championships, and will stay with the team for this year’s season too.
The young racing driver keeps his personal life fairly private, but often posts photos of himself racing or relaxing in stunning locations on his Instagram.
