Air pollution and fossil fuels are causing major problems for our environment. Last week it was said that fossil fuel emissions need to be cut by 10 times more than they already have to stop the climate crisis.

Fossil fuels are emitted from vehicle engines, home heating, meat production and manufacturing, among other things. But how much do we spend subsidising fossil fuels every year?

An ongoing dependence on fossil fuels is incredibly damaging to our health and the state of the planet. Studies have found that breathing in particles from fossil fuel emissions is linked to a higher mortality rate. We are asking, how many people does air pollution kill every year?

There are viable and cleaner alternatives such as electric cars, which can also be cheaper than petrol or diesel powered vehicles. But how much money can you save per mile with an electric vs petrol car?

Britons have also been urged to eat significantly less meat to save the planet. Climate advisers say switching to a plant-based diet would reduce greenhouse gas emissions from farm animals. We ask, how much meat does the average Briton currently eat?
