Kevin Hart doesn’t take his birthday for granted.
The comedian, who turned 41 on Monday, celebrated by posting a smiling snap of himself on a boat, stating he is “lucky to be alive.”
“So blessed & so thankful to see the age 41….I’m lucky to be alive,” Hart wrote on Instagram. “There will never be another day that just goes by in my life that’s not treated with the highest level of respect and appreciation.
He continued, “God is great!!!! Thank you….Happy B Day to me damn it!!!!! #LiveLoveLaugh.”
Hart has endured an eventful year, beginning last September when he sustained “major back injuries” as a result of a Los Angeles car crash. The “Night School” star was a passenger in a vehicle that veered off Mulholland Highway near Malibu. The car careened down an embankment and slammed into a tree.
The accident fractured Hart’s spine in three places, necessitating back surgery. He then entered a live-in rehab facility for physical therapy.
“I could not f–king move. I could not wipe my ass,” Hart recalled on his Sirius radio show. “I literally I couldn’t do none of that.”
In May, Hart also opened up about cheating on wife Eniko Parrish with model Montia Sabbag during a 2017 trip to Las Vegas. The sexual encounter was taped and later released in an alleged attempt to extort the comedian.
Hart has called Parrish, 35, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, “The strongest woman in the world.”
“She came to an amazing conclusion of, ‘I like the fact that we have a family, that we have a household, and I like the fact that we now got a job to do to get better,” Hart said on “The School of Greatness” podcast.
Sabbag’s $60 million lawsuit against Hart was later dismissed.
