Marks & Spencer has delighted fans with their latest Percy Pig themed social media video, showing the impressive evolution of the much-loved character.  

The British High Street favourite shared another hilarious video on their growing TikTok page yesterday, showing a very different looking version of Percy Pig. 

Poking fun at one of the app’s trends, which sees users post before and after videos of themselves following make-overs, the retailer showed an old video of their mascot compared with a new one.

The first clip showed someone wearing a ‘terrifying’ dated Percy Pig costume compared to a sleeker new version of the pig strutting down the street and posing in a doorway.  

The video got a huge 581K views and 153.1K likes with several users quick to comment on the clip. 

While many complimented character on it’s ‘glow up’, others said they were ‘scared’ of the old version of Percy. 

‘The best glow up i’ve ever seen’, wrote one. While another agreed: ‘Percy deffo had a glow up.’

‘Get it sis!’, exclaimed one user, with another agreeing: ‘I want Percy’s glow up’.   

But some users weren’t keen on the video, writing: ‘Omg old percy was terrifying’, with another agreeing: ‘I’m scared’. 

The pig-shaped confectionary first appeared in stores in 1992 and has since become a firm favourite at the store, with the retailer launching several other spin-off characters since Percy’s original release. 

Earlier this month the chain delighted fans once again with an Easter-themed advert featuring the cuddly mascot sporting bunny ears for an Easter-themed board meeting.

M&S shared the ad on Instagram earlier this month with hundreds of shoppers hoping to pick up the Easter pig in stores.

The clip centres around a boardroom full of the plush limited edition Percy Pig toys – which cost £15 – as they sit in on a meeting and carefully guard Easter Eggs. 

The giant plush Percy toys first launched in September and was a huge hit with fans of all ages, at one point selling 10,000 toys in just a single day leading up to Christmas.  

Since, the retailer has launched a series of adverts showing the plush teddy in boardroom situations, as well as Halloween and Christmas themed scenarios.
