You wouldn’t think twice about using a price comparison site to get you the best deal on a flight or insurance. But have you ever wished you had something similar to hand for the world of beauty?

Hold that thought, as a new app is about to change the game when it comes to finding the best deals on all things skin, hair and makeup.

The brand-new SKIN app compares prices from trusted retailers such as Lookfantastic, Boots, Escentual and more so that you can bag the cheapest buy – potentially saving you hundreds of pounds on products from the likes of Olaplex, Skinceuticals, Kérastase and more.

For example one haul from the brand comprising of eight products, including the above named brands, would cost £324 at the recommended retail price in July 2021 – however consumers would have saved just shy of £83 by shopping through SKIN.

According to a PwC consumer report from this year, 56% of consumers are now “more price-orientated than ever” so the app couldn’t have launched at a better time.

"SKIN is not just about hunting down the best bargain for your skincare – it's about community and sharing knowledge," say the app's co-founders Ben Barter and Flinty Bane. "There's been a huge increase in the importance of social media when shopping online.

"42% of all internet users in the UK and US* are now using social media as part of their brand discovery process when purchasing,” they continue. “SKIN is our way of revolutionising the beauty shopping experience for every consumer and continuing to offer the best prices on the internet for your beauty bag."

The free app, which is available on the AppStore and GooglePlay now, is made up of three key sections – Shelf, Social and Source.

Shelf allows you to compile your ultimate skincare shopping shelfie so that the app can calculate how much you could save when you repurchase your beauty regime. With more than 140,000 products available from 2,300 different brands, you can also set up notifications for when SKIN finds you a new deal.

Social allows you to link up with friends and fellow beauty enthusiasts, swapping beauty wishlists and skin and haircare recommendations.

Lastly Source is your expert-led area of the app, in which you can browse guest edits and spotlit hero skincare buys, as well as tapping into expert advice.

Hey, when you’ve saved money on a new purchase it makes it feel all the more sweet.
