Polyamorous trio discuss why their romance is teaching their son, 7, all about ‘honesty’

Cathy and Thomas Keen were welcomed on ITV’s Good Morning Britain to open up about their unconventional relationship.

The couple have been in a relationship for over ten years and have a seven-year-old son together.

Thomas claims that coming from broken homes is the reason why marriage was “never on the cards” for them.

Now they believe their set-up with their shared girlfriend Nicole Everett teaches their young boy about “honest relationships”.

“We’re in a relationship where we show love with other people around him”

Cathy said: “He is growing up in a world where he’s never recognised a monogamous male-female couple as the norm.

“His uncle is gay and married to a man with an adopted child. We’re in a relationship where we show love with other people around him.

“So he’s never known a difference. Our son recognises [Nicole] as someone very important to us.”

And the 39-year-old insists the trio are offering their son “security based on a relationship that’s honest”.

Nicole explained: “I came into this as the third person or unicorn and there’s no jealousy surrounding that.

“But Cathy and Thomas have a solid grounding of marriage that I could never break, and I wouldn’t want to.”

And Thomas revealed: “Cathy and I have so much history – we’re married and have a son together.

“We know that Nicole may want those things too, so I think that one day she may fly the nest.”
