Tom Hanks appeared to scold an employee as he walked the red carpet alongside his wife, Rita Wilson, at the Cannes Film Festival Tuesday evening.
In photographs, the unknown man could be seen gesturing at the “A Man Called Otto” actor, 66 — who was dressed in a black tux — as he posed with his “Asteroid City” co-stars during the film’s premiere.
Once Hanks was joined by his wife on the carpet, he could be seen pointing his finger at the young man and making a stern face during their conversation.
Wilson — who looked stunning in a black dress and a long black coat adorned with silver gems — also had her hand up during the heated discussion, however, it’s not clear what they were chatting about.
Despite the incident, the “That Thing You Do!” co-stars continued their trek down the red carpet, posing for more pictures.
Page Six has reached out to Hanks’ rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
The couple’s outing comes nearly a month after he and Wilson, also 66, celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.
The “Now and Then” actress shared a sweet snap of her husband gazing at her while holding a cake with the words “Happy Anniversary” written on it.

“35 years of marriage. April 30 1988. Love is everything,” she captioned the pic.
The happy couple was showered with love from several of their celebrity friends, including “Saturday Night Live” star Kenan Thompson, who wrote, “❤️❤️❤️❤️ Happy Anniversary you two!!!!!”
“Will & Grace” alum Sean Hayes commented, “HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! So happy for you both. ❤️❤️.”
“Alias” alum Jennifer Garner added, “Happy anniversary, Rita! Congratulations! ♥️♥️♥️.”
Hanks and Wilson first met on the set of “Bosom Buddies” in 1981. The pair started as just friends since the “Cast Away” star was married to his college sweetheart, Samantha Lewes, at the time.
The “Larry Crowne” co-stars later went public with their relationship in 1986 and tied the knot two years later.
They share two children together: sons Chet, 32, and Truman, 27. Hanks is also a dad to son Colin, 45, and daughter Elizabeth, 41, from his previous marriage to Lewes.
