Wetherspoons fans are excited to get back to its pubs as they re-open on April 12.

However, many may be upset when they find out that 44 items will be missing from its menu.

Among the long list of dishes you won't be able to get are curries, mixed grills and steaks.

The food menu in Wetherspoons often varies usually depending on the branch.

However, all of its 394 pub gardens, terraces and rooftops across the country will have a reduced list of meals from April 12.

The move has been brought in to allow its staff to socially distance.

Most of the pub's breakfast options are also off of the menu, as are two of the chicken burgers usually on offer.

A number of pub classics have also been scrapped for now, including the pub's steak and kidney pie and all day brunches.

'Spoons are also reducing the number of offers which see customer pick up a free drink with their meal.

This means the daily 2-5pm fish deal, Tuesday steak club, Thursday curry club and Sunday all-day brunch deals will all no longer available at the moment.

However, punters will still be able to take advantage of the Fish Friday deal for now, which sees you get a free drink every fish and chips ordered.

Customers will be happy to hear that classic favourites such as 'Spoons' burgers and pizzas are still available to order. However, the chain has massively reduced the additional toppings and fillings offered.

Its scampi and chips and beef lasagne are also still on the menu, as are some new options to choose from, including its plant-based beyond burger.

At the moment, Wetherspoons doesn’t expect to be able to serve its full menu until at least June 21. This is when all restrictions are scheduled to be lifted under Government plans.

Customers won't be able to sit inside pubs until May 17, under the government's four-step plan to get England out of lockdown.

Pubs will currently offer table service, with 'Spoons customers able to order their food on the free app. A member of staff will still be on hand for customers who don't want to use it, however.

Customers won't be able to stand at the bar in April and will only be allowed inside to use the toilet.

'Spoons customers also won't be able to pre-book a table, so you'll have to turn up on the day to see if there's a space free.

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: "We can’t wait to open our pubs with outdoor areas in England on April 12 and also in Scotland a few weeks later.

"We will be serving a fantastic menu throughout the day. We are reducing the menu slightly initially and look forward to offering the full menu in due course.

"Even with the reduced menu there are dozens of meals for customers to choose from."
