Blushing bride! Kentucky woman pens FURIOUS email to bridal company after gown arrived looking nothing like the photos – only for staff to point out that she’d put it on INSIDE-OUT
- Aubrey from Louisville, Kentucky wrote an angry email to a bridal company when her dressed turned up looking nothing like it did online
- The 33-year-old healthcare worker had her husband lace her up, and both were disappointed with how it looked
- She soon received this response from Milly Bridal: ‘You put the dress on inside out. Please put it on in the right way’
- Aubrey had a laugh at her ‘dumb blonde’ moment and shared it online to admit she was wrong and make it up to the company
When the gown she ordered looked nothing like what was pictured on the website, a Kentucky woman wrote an angry letter to the bridal store from which she bought it — and was mortified when the store wrote back to tell her that it didn’t look right because she was wearing it inside-out.
Aubrey from Louisville, shared her ‘blonde moment’ on Facebook this weekend, writing that she was ‘really upset’ when her gown arrived and quickly fired off an angry email to the company.
Soon after, the 33-year-old received a surprising response from the store: ‘You put the dress on inside out. Please put it on in the right way.’

Not a fan! The 33-year-old healthcare worker had her husband lace her up, and both were disappointed with how it looked
Despite some embarrassment, Aubrey appears to have a sense of humor about her mistake and shared it in a bridal Facebook group.
‘Two weeks ago my wedding dress came in,’ she wrote. ‘I was really upset about the looks of it and sent an angry email to the company wanting to return it. I took pictures of me in the dress telling them it looked nothing like what I had ordered.
She also included some images: First, she posted front and back shots of the dress, a white strapless number with a sweetheart neckline and a fluffy tulle mermaid hem.
It has lots of little details, including embellishment at the thighs and a lace-up back.
When Aubrey put it on, though, the gown looked rough and unfinished. The tulle only ran along the very bottom, and a messy white fabric took up most of the dress.
The lace-up back looked unfinished, with the strings hanging down the back, and the front was dowdy.
This weekend, Aubrey received an email back from the company, Milly Bridal, which explained that she was wearing it wrong and signed off with a polite ‘kind regards.’
‘Who knew that they shipped wedding dresses inside out?’ Aubrey wrote, adding that the dress ‘actually turned out beautiful’.
‘Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much school we put behind us…we’re still going to lack common sense, like how to put clothes on properly,’ she joked.
Aubrey added that the bridal story probably ‘didn’t appreciate’ her angry email, so she wanted to make it up to them.
‘This post is the least I could do to thank them for “fixing” the problem (me, the problem was me).’ she wrote. ‘But I hope they appreciated a good laugh.’
Later, Aubrey amended the post to say that she had been working long shifts as a healthcare worker and was functioning on little sleep — and in her defense, her husband also didn’t figure out that it was inside-out.
‘Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much school we put behind us… we’re still going to lack common sense, like how to put clothes on properly,’ Aubrey quipped
‘Hoping other brides can read this and not panic or get upset when their dress arrives in the mail,’ she went on. You can cry about the disasters and imperfect moments that hit us when we least expect them, or you can laugh into forever.
And, she added, ‘Ask your bridesmaids to lace you up not your husband, and hire the wedding planners, ESPECIALLY if this ain’t your industry or jam to begin with.’
Now, Aubrey is just waiting for the pandemic to end so she and her husband — they’ve already made it legal — can have a proper wedding with loved ones.
Commenters have been tickled by the funny story, thanking Aubrey for the laugh.
‘That’s the funniest thing I’ve seen in a month!’ wrote one. ‘Sounds like something I would do. I love you even more now. Ha!!’
‘Thank you for this! I needed the laugh! I just love you! You looked beautiful, even inside out!’ wrote another.
‘Ohmygosh, laughing right along with you! So funny. This will become a memory to laugh about forever,’ commented a third.
