Im a Celebs Andy Whyment shares rare family snap in birthday tribute to son

I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Andy Whyment has shared a rare family snap with fans.

The Coronation Street actor, who plays Kirk Sutherland on the ITV soap, finished as runner-up to Jacqueline Jossa in the jungle back in 2019.

Posting to his Instagram stories on Tuesday, the 40-year-old star shared a photograph of himself dining out with his wife Nichola Willis and their children Tom and Hollie, 11, in order to celebrate his son's 13th birthday.

The adorable snap sees the family-of-four pose for a selfie, with Andy dressed in a black hoodie.

In a caption alongside the post, Andy wrote: "Wagamama for Tom's birthday meal."

Andy and Nichola tied the knot in 2007.

The couple originally met in Manchester in 2004.

Of their courtship, Andy previously told OK!: "I fancied Nic for some time, but nothing happened.

"Then we copped off one night and it wasn't too long before I realised she was the one I wanted to be with.

"I said in my wedding speech you just know when you meet the one, and that's true."

In her own birthday tribute to their son Tom, 37-year-old Nichola said the couple were "so proud" of the teen.

To her 24,800 Instagram followers, she wrote: "We have a TEENAGER!!!!

"Happy 13th Birthday @tomwhyment, we are so proud of you!!!

"You are so funny and caring, incredibly daft but can be so serious and we love you for it!! Please don’t change and become a moody teenager.

"Have a great day son."

Andy partook in the most recent I'm a Celeb series to take place in Australia.

Due to ongoing coronavirus precautions, this year's series will once again take place in Gwrych Castle in Wales, with Andy commenting on the destination change on social media last year.

Posting to Instagram, he wrote: "The wrap party in Australia, it's mad to think the show is gonna be done in the UK… due to COVID.

"But I'm really excited to watch it, as I'm sure you all know how much of a massive fan I am of the show.

"It's certainly gonna be different but it'll still be as amazing as it always is, I'm sure."

I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV later this year
