Kelly Osbourne defends decision to not breastfeed after backlash from family

Kelly Osbourne has hit out at those criticising her decision to not breastfeed her unborn child once she gives birth.

The television personality, 37, revealed to fans in May that she and her partner Sid Wilson were expecting their first child together in an adorable Instagram post.

Kelly, who found fame on The Osbournes alongside her megastar parents Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne has always remained very open about her life and it appears some comments have not gone down too well with her relatives.

The former singer revealed she made a conscious decision to not breastfeed her baby so she could stay on certain medication but adds that this has ruffled the feathers of some of her family.

During an experience on Red Table Talk, the former Fashion Police presenter said: "I have chosen to stay on my medication instead of breastfeeding and the judgment that I have received from my friends and also extended family [is wild]."

The presenter went on to explain that some have told her she will "miss out on that bonding period," before stating that her own health is also a priority.

Kelly continued: "I'm like, 'Don't you think I know that?'

"What kind of mother am I gonna be if I start going backwards if I start being self-destructive? It has to be what's best for me, what's gonna be the best for my baby."

Discussing her pregnancy, The Masked Singer star went on to say: "I feel very blessed, my parents have been so incredible, I feel forever indebted to them," adding that it's been the "wildest" experience.

In the past, Kelly has been brutally honest about her battles with anxiety and depression as well as seeking help for drug and alcohol problems.

Kelly has recently been diagnosed with gestational diabetes having noticed symptoms of weight gain and swollen ankles during the final months of her pregnancy.

She told People: "I got it in my third trimester and basically, I thought it was something that I had done wrong.

"This whole pregnancy, I've had no cravings except for sugar," before saying she realised that sugary drinks and juice was the cause of her health scare.

After cutting out excessive amounts of sugar, Kelly says she suffered from a headache for a short period of time as the reduction was a shock to her system but her pregnancy acne also cleared up.
