Paris Jackson has opened up about her dad Michael in an extremely rare interview, touching upon what it was like to be raised by him.

She also spoke of one very key lesson he taught her about self-love.

Paris revealed that her dad was a "free-love, hippie-type dude" before he sadly passed away in 2009.

Michael Jackson, the king of pop, died in 2009 when his daughter Paris was 11 years of age.

She is now 24 years old and has forged her own path in this world as a singer and model.

The successful star has recently opened up to Popsugar about beauty, self-love and being raised by the most famous man in the world.

Chatting to the magazine she said: "I try and always keep an open mind – not just with makeup, but with everything.

"I was raised by a free-love, hippie-type dude, so we were taught that beauty comes from the inside – and to this day, I still believe that."

Incredibly spiritual herself, Paris is a big advocate for self-love and positive affirmations.

She explained: "It wasn't until the last couple of years that I've started feeling really good about myself and my body, and feeling comfortable and everything.

"Those moments of self-love aren't 24/7, but the bad moments are fewer and further between."

Paris has 3.9million Instagram followers and often gives fans a glimpse inside her spiritual life.

She is the second child and only daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe.

Michael's first child, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr, 25, who is more commonly known as Prince, is Paris' older brother.

And Prince Michael Jackson II more commonly known as Blanket and later Bigi, 20, is her half-brother.

Paris was raised solely by her father, who received full custody rights following his divorce from Prince and Paris' mum Debbie in 1999.
