Coronation Street spoilers: David Platt’s future sealed as he faces court with Nick?

Coronation Street viewers saw Nick Tilsley (played by Ben Price) return to Weatherfield last year and since his arrival he has been causing turmoil among several of the residents.

Desperate to pay his ex-wife off, Nick stole tens of thousands of pounds from his grandmother Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) and in recent months, David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) found out about his abominable behaviour.

After weeks of threats flying between the two brothers, their grandmother eventually found out she had been fleeced by her own flesh and blood, and wasted no time in informing the police about Nick’s criminal activity.

In upcoming weeks, Nick and David are going to stand trial, and according to soap spoilers, Audrey is left heartbroken.

Official spoiler pictures which have been released by ITV show the pair sitting in the dock behind the glass waiting for the dury’s verdict.

The caption accompanying the image reads: “It’s judgement day for Nick and David.

“Gail Platt (Helen Worth) is fretting about David and Nick appearing in court and Audrey is stunned to realise she has abandoned her in favour of going to court to look out for them. What will the outcome be?”

Either way, it doesn’t look good for the two men, with suggestions claiming David is the one who is going to take the wrath, whilst Nick recently broke bail conditions.

Prior to the trial, Nick attempted to build bridges with Audrey and contact her, despite it being against the conditions set on his bail.

While this will be brought up in court, there is a chance he could leave the courtroom a free man after he uses his previous brain injury as an excuse.

Therefore it will be David who suffers the consequences, but will Audrey intervene and drop all the charges before her beloved grandson ends up behind bars?

Tensions are also going to rise between Audrey and Gail when she realises her daughter is not supporting her.

Having always seen her sons through rose tinted glasses, could this be the turning point for the Platt family?

Elsewhere in the Street, Carla Connor (Alison King) is set to return next week.

Due to her mental health spiralling out of control following the Underworld factory roof collapse earlier this year, the knicker boss has been suffering with a psychotic breakdown and has been spending time in a treatment centre in Scotland.

As she makes a comeback to Weatherfield, it isn’t long before Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) intervenes with his opinions, stating she should be back so soon.

New images from the soap show a fragile-looking Carla back in the factory preparing to come face-to-face with the factory workers again.

Peter can be seen standing over her looking rather concerned as if she’s just dropped a bombshell.

Spoilers have revealed he is worried her psychosis is making her do rash things – what could she have planned for the factory and her future?

Coronation Street returns tomorrow night at 7.30pm on ITV.

9-1-1 Season 3 release date confirmed by FOX: When does TV show return in 2019?

9-1-1 is heading back to FOX for Season 3 this fall, after being renewed earlier this year. With everything that happened last season on the gripping drama, viewers are anxious to see where things are headed.

While filming has yet to begin, there are high expectations for the third season of the hit show on FOX. So many questions were left hanging in the balance, including where Chim (Kenneth Choi) and Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) will end up.

After watching the intense bombing episode during the Season 2 finale, there are still so many questions about Buck (Oliver Stark) and his ability to continue in the career as a firefighter. He has been an important part of the team and, with his injury, there are some possible roadblocks.

Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena (Angela Bassett) got married last season. Viewers are shipping “Bathena” hard but their relationship won’t be without some ups and downs. Being a blended family won’t be easy but it will be worth it.

9-1-1 Season 3 premiere date

FOX has decided to continue with 9-1-1 in the Monday night lineup. It did well there for the duration of Season 2 but this time, the time slot has changed. It will air an hour earlier in order to make room for a new show on the network.

Filming for 9-1-1 is set to start in July, which signals that Season 3 is right around the corner. It has only been a few weeks since the season ended but it feels like a lifetime for viewers who enjoy watching the group and their struggles.

9-1-1 Season 3 is set to debut on Monday, September 23 at 8/7c on FOX.

The Kardashians Are Celebrating Khloe’s Birthday With A ‘KUWTK’ Special

Fans of Keeping Up With the Kardashians know that the past few episodes of the current season, Season 16, have been pretty rough for Khloe Kardashian. The show’s latest episode from Sunday showed the youngest Kardashian sister hearing that her boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, had supposedly kissed Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods. Suffice it to say, Khloe could probably use a little uplifting around now, especially with her birthday coming up on June 27. The celebration is starting early because on Tuesday E! released a video of Kylie, Kim, and Kourtney Kardashian wishing Khloe a happy birthday.

E! accompanied the sweet birthday video with an announcement that the network will celebrate Khloe turning 35 on June 27 with an all-day marathon of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, and Kourtney & Kim Take Miami. Then at 8 p.m. Khloe’s Pop-Up Birthday special will begin. The special will feature more birthday wishes from familiar faces and, if it’s like Kourtney’s birthday special that aired in April, the three-hour special will include special footage celebrating Khloe.

The birthday wishes in Tuesday’s video came with a special surprise appearance by Khloe’s Keeping Up co-star from January, 2018: Pierre the Mime. Pierre didn’t have any special words for Khloe (he is a mime, after all), though he did have a fun miniature hand attached to his finger. Kim, Kylie, and Kourtney, however, did have special blessings for the birthday girl in preparation for her birthday.

Kim’s birthday wish for her younger sister referenced the recent tumultuous events that Khloe publicly faced with Thompson, who’s the father of Khloe’s daughter, True. In blessing Khloe’s next year in life, Kim said she hopes for "No more bullsh*t! Just fun and carefree. Seriously, stress free. That’s all I want for you. I love you." Kylie’s message similarly showered Khloe with praise, as the Lip Kit maven said, "You truly are so special, I look up to you so much, I’ve looked up to you all my life and I still do."

Kourtney’s message took on a different tone than her other sisters’, as she joked, "I’m so thankful that I’ve had you as my soulmate for… I don’t remember you until you were 16." KUWTK fans know that this is lighthearted fun for Kourtney and Khloe, and it demonstrates their frequently snarky humor that makes them special. Fortunately, Kourtney finished off her wish on a sweet note — literally. "But, starting at 16, you became the Thelma to my Louise, the Suzanne to my Jane, the Ethel to my Lucy—you could be Lucy—and the peanut butter to my jelly. I could go on and on and on, my little sprinkle on my cupcake," the founder said.

Of all the wishes that appeared on the new video, Pierre’s was the shortest, but it might just be the most special to Khloe considering the unlikely friends’ hilarious bond.

There’s in store for a lot more praising of Khloe in store in the coming week, especially with an all-day E! marathon that highlights the Good American founder’s best moments. The most recent Keeping Up episodes probably won’t make the highlight reel, though, and that’s probably for the best.

‘The Hills’ Promo: Do Brody and Kaitlynn Jenner Have an Open Relationship?

Trouble in paradise? During the Monday, June 24, premiere of The Hills: New Beginnings, Brody and wife Kaitlynn Jenner got into an argument because he said he’d be home at 2 a.m. ET, but was not, causing her to worry. When he did get home, according to Brody, she was a “nightmare,” so he slept in his car. Nevertheless, she wasn’t thrilled that he said she was acting like a “psychopath.”

Now, it seems like their relationship woes are just getting started! In the promo for the rest of the season, he appears to be getting a lap dance out at a club. Later, Kaitlynn calls him out. “You said to her last night that we had an open relationship,” the 30-year-old says. Brody, 35, fires back, “We’re not talking about this anymore.”

The trailer ends with Brody yelling at someone from his balcony. “We are not talking about it another f—king time, do you understand that?” the reality star states.

Brody and Kaitlynn have been together for nearly six years and married in June 2018. The couple also plan to start a family … eventually. “We’re not opposed to having kids, but we’re not necessarily really trying to have children right now,” he told Us Weekly exclusively ahead of the premiere. “I think if we do [get pregnant] – all of a sudden or accidentally it happens – we will be very excited and ready for it, but we’re not in a rush.”

He also added that the show has actually made the pair closer – something Stephanie Pratt commended. “It’s crazy that reality shows are notorious for ripping couples apart. They are a sick couple throughout it. [The show] could never tear them apart,” she told Us.

Elsewhere in the new Hills promo, Heidi Montag, Stephanie and Spencer Pratt butt heads – but the 33-year-old later shares a champagne toast with the couple. Stephanie also seems to be caught in the middle of Audrina Patridge and Justin Bobby Brescia drama.

“She thinks that you guys are hooking up and you’re being shady,” Mischa Barton tells Stephanie, referring to what Audrina believes. Stephanie responds, “I have never f—king hooked up with him, Audrina, like, get it in your head.”

The Hills: New Beginnings airs on MTV Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.

Grab Your Tissues: The Art of Racing in the Rain Is Going to Be the Tearjerker of the Summer

When the book The Art of Racing in the Rain by Gareth Stein came out back in 2009, it seemed like everyone was crying. After my mom recommended it to me, I began to see why: it’s a beautifully written, emotional journey for readers, regardless of if they’ve ever owned a dog like the book’s main character, Enzo (a golden retriever). Now that an adaptation of the beloved novel is hitting the big screen, we had a chance to up with the films’ stars — Milo Ventimiglia and Amanda Seyfried — at POPSUGAR Play/Ground. Spoiler alert: You’re gonna want to grab some tissues.

“It’s a really, really beautiful film,” Ventimiglia explained of his role as Enzo’s owner, Denny Swift. “I’m in the business of tears because of my role on This Is Us. Even I cried a little bit.”

As for behind the scenes? There were a ton of dogs milling around, as multiple pooches were cast for the role of Enzo. “We had one dog for running, one for jumping, and one for barking. But sometimes professionals need their rest,” Ventimiglia said, before noting that he was able to chill with the Enzos off-camera given the bond they’re supposed to have onscreen. Was it the same experience for his costar, Amanda Seyfried? Well, not so much.

Billie Eilish Fans Defend Teen Singer From Objectification

Teen sensation and emo-pop singer Billie Eilish recently posed for a picture with an eager fan wearing a tank top underneath a grey, baggy zip-up hoodie, which was extensively shared on Twitter.

One user commented, “Billie Eilish is THICK,” which caused a storm of comments from the young singer’s fans, who attacked the user for blatantly sexualizing the artist.

“hope billie never sees this. i don’t know what’s worse. you sexualizing a minor or you sexualizing someone who has gone out of their way to cover themselves,” tweeted one user, emphasizing the fact that Eilish usually wears baggy clothes to avoid such comments.

While other fans tried to defend the original poster by claiming that the 17-year-old singer is “legal” in several states, a large majority called them out, saying, “what’s your point here. 17 is legal where you are so you can do what you’d like to her orrrrrr?”

Eilish has yet to comment on the dumpster-fire of a situation.

Another Love Island couple facing split as Jordan and Anna clash over Danny

Love Island airs the tense fallout to Danny Williams dumping Yewande Biala on Tuesday night, as several islanders clash in the villa.

The repercussions of the recoupling, that saw Danny choose new girl Arabella over Yewande leading to her show exit, result in another couple hitting the rocks.

Anna Vakili and Jordan Hames finally coupled up officially in the last episode, with their romance going from strength to strength.

But her reaction towards Danny in upcoming scenes, out of loyalty to pal Yewande, leads to the pair falling out and him deeming her actions “pathetic”.

In a new teaser for the latest instalment, some of the islanders are left stunned as moments after the dumping, they see Arabella and Danny kissing.

The girls are furious that he’s moved on so quickly, and they don’t exactly hold back on their feelings.

One girl, appearing to be Amber Gill, is heard shouting “ew” at them, and it’s not long before Danny calls them out.

After an awkward spat, Danny walks away and the girls say bye, with Anna repeatedly shouting “bye” in a sassy tone.

Jordan, who’s pals with Danny, isn’t happy about it and tells her to “shut up” before calling out her beavhiour.

He says: “Shut up! That’s pathetic that you know.”

Anna rolls her eyes, clearly not happy with the way he’s spoken to her.

She then says in the Beach Hut: “Jordan’s in the background like, ‘You’re pathetic, you’re pathetic. You’re childish’.

“You don’t know what that guy has said to her, and the lies he’s fed her.”

Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.

Authenticity online is overrated

Be yourself. That’s important, right? It better be; I say it to my kids all the time. But what does "being yourself" mean in the digital age?

Being yourself isn’t a binary proposition. We aren’t either "authentic" or "fake". There are a million shades in between. At the one end of the scale there is Belle Gibson, at the other there is the Buddha; but most of us fall somewhere in the middle.

Last week, influencer Marissa Fuchs caused a giant online storm by posting her surprise engagement/wedding online. It was nothing particularly novel – everyone posts their proposals these days – until Fuchs was caught out.

It was revealed the engagement wasn’t a surprise at all. She had sold the entire experience to advertisers before it made it to Instagram.

The online world reacted with horror, because Fuchs had committed the ultimate sin against social media. She was not authentic. She was not transparent. Her Instagram feed was fraud!

Well, I didn’t react with horror. Partly because I don’t care about her proposal, but partly because I didn’t get the memo about authenticity. Where is it written that we need to be authentic online? Where is it decreed that transparency is key?

In recent years there has been a huge backlash against social media users who are inauthentic. The celebrity caught using Face Tune on her photos? Wrong! The influencer caught peddling a product without the hashtag #sponsored? Deceitful! The reality star posting loved-up messages about her partner when you suspect they’re having issues? Fake!

Now, influencers like Belle Gibson, who peddled medical lies and fraud, pose a real and present danger to their followers.

But I fail to understand the danger of pedestrian influencers like Marissa Fuchs, whose only sin was to fake an engagement surprise.

Because we don’t just curate our digital footprint; we also curate our real lives.

We all present a version of ourselves to the world. We wear makeup to enhance our appearance. We monitor what we say in public. We keep certain personal details private – our salaries, our sexual lives, our struggles. We pretend to be surprised when we’re really not. None of us are running around unfiltered and unmodified, and if we are, we’re not especially healthy.

Authenticity is something I strive for in my personal life, because I want to live in accordance with my values and beliefs. But, do I expect social media influencers to be authentic or transparent? God no. Influencers are entertainers, or – if you’re feeling generous – performance artists. They offer a product (their social media feeds) for public consumption. We should be savvy enough to realise their products are constructions.

After all, we watch reality TV knowing it is largely a fiction. We browse fashion magazines knowing that the images are retouched. We are complicit in those narratives because we want to be entertained, and we are equally complicit as consumers of social media.

Of course, it’s not easy constructing these online personas. We’ve seen enough influencers collapsing under the strain of creating their perfect online realities. It’s rough out here in the online world. You need a lot of content, and a very thick skin.

Still, that doesn’t mean that authenticity is the necessary remedy.

After all, you don’t expect ballerinas to deconstruct their dances; you’re quite aware that they practice for hours, and that they don’t really walk around en pointe. You don’t expect filmmakers to reveal all their tricks; you anticipate being manipulated by their art, which is why you bought your ticket.

So, what is wrong with concealing the art of the Instagram pic? What is wrong with creating a bit of magic?

If someone wants to put their fake Instagram proposal online, and it brings somebody else a little joy, I say let them go ahead and enjoy the illusion. If you don’t like the fake proposal, look away and unfollow, but don’t condemn the influencer for not being transparent.

This is the digital world, my friends, and you are complicit in its construction. Authenticity is but a hashtag on a post about a meme.
