The thing about Better Call Saul is that you already know what happens to certain characters. But there are some whose fates are unknown. Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian) is one character whose story will need to be resolved in the upcoming season, but some fans already think they know his fate thanks to a new post from Bob Odenkirk (Saul Goodman).
What happened with Howard in the latest season of ‘Better Call Saul’
When the show left off, Kim Wexler had approached Saul with a plan to sink Howard’s career in order to get money from the Sandpiper settlement. The idea surprised even Saul with his shady ways. But Kim showed how serious she was when she shot some Saul-esque finger guns his way.
The moment highlighted her moral descent and fueled theories that Kim will die before the events in Breaking Bad. But she’s not the only one that has fans worried.
Did Bob Odenkirk’s Twitter post reveal Howard’s fate in ‘Better Call Saul’?
Concern for Howard grew after a new post on Odenkirk’s Twitter. He wished Fabian a happy birthday alongside a photo of them on what appears to be the set of Better Call Saul Season 6. He wrote, “Happy birthday pally!” and could be seen standing next to Fabian, who had an apparent blood spot on his head.
Has he revealed fate or was it just another photo? Fans are trying to figure out what it could mean.
“Why does he have, what it seems to he blood on his hair?” read one comment.
“howard seems like he may have some unfortunate times coming up……,” said another.
A third fan said, “Something tells me it isn’t going to end well for Howard.”
“For the record im not on board for what you are about to do to this guy. WAAAAAAIIITINGGG,” read a fourth comment.
Odenkirk did not address the speculation. But he previously admitted he thought there would be a lot of violence next season.
“I’m finding out script by script [how the season goes],” he told Collider. “I’m told that the wheels come off in Season 6 and it explodes in a million directions. That sounds to me like there’s a fair amount of violence, but I don’t know for a fact.”
When it comes to his character specifically, his hope is that Saul will have a happy ending — or at least a better one than his client Walter White.
“We have a discussion where my point of view is that Walter White became an angry, broken version of himself,” he continued. “I wonder if it would be possible to write — because I like the guy — I wonder if it would be possible to give Jimmy McGill a better ending, a better place to end in than he started in. I don’t know if they’re going to do that though.”
The show to return in 2022
Better Call Saul was, unfortunately, delayed by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. But filming was able to begin in early 2021. While the release date is still unknown, reports say it’ll arrive sometime in 2022.
In the meantime, check out the first five seasons of Better Call Saul now.
