Black Panther Fans Campaign for Recasting TChalla Amid Letitia Wrights Exit Rumors

Fans of the Marvel movie suggest that the studio recast Chadwick Boseman’s role despite report that Wright is expected to resume filming of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ in early next year.

AceShowbiz -“Black Panther” fans have voiced their concerns amid reports that Letitia Wright‘s alleged vaccination stance interfered in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” filming. As production on the movie has been delayed because the actress hasn’t been able to return to the U.S. reportedly because she is still unvaccinated, fans campaign for recasting Chadwick Boseman‘s role.

Those fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that the studio taps a new actor to play T’Challa. While they used to believe that the mantle couldn’t possibly taken by another actor to honor Boseman’s legacy, they now think that recasting the role wouldn’t have been the worst thing in light of the reported drama happening now.

“I know this is a bit of a hot take but a lot of this rumored on set drama of Black Panther 2 might’ve been prevented if they just recast T’Challa,” one suggested. “I know people loved Chadwick Boseman, I did too, but that character had more stories to tell.”

Another shared a similar opinion, “Why does Hollywood allow problematic actors to remain in roles? Especially when they interfere with production and cause trouble on set? I wasn’t for it before but I am now #RecastTchalla #WakandaForever And I LOVED Chadwick but even he would want the recast.”

“Bruh y’all need to understand this man Chadwick wants the character of tchalla to live on #RecastTchalla,” a third fan argued. Another added, “I’m here for the #RecastTchalla movement. Let’s see how long we can get it to trend till they hear us. In honor of Chadwick.”

“Black Panther 2” has temporarily shut down production as Wright continues to recover from an on-set injury she suffered back in August. She currently stays in London and it was pointed out by The Hollywood Reporter in November that “a return to the U.S. for a possible shoot in Atlanta, where ‘Wakanda Forever’ is based, could be an issue” because of the new rules that require all non-immigrant, non-citizen air travelers to the U.S. be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination status before boarding a plane.

Earlier this month, Giant Freakin Robot (GFR) reported that Wright quit “Black Panther 2” because she refuses to get vaccinated. It was speculated that her on-set injury was just a cover for her objection over COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

However, THR reported over the weekend that the sequel is expected to resume filming in January 2022 in Atlanta with Wright.

Marvel has not issued a further statement on Wright’s status in the movie and the production restart. Back in December 2020, producer Kevin Feige stressed that they won’t recast T’Challa following Boseman’s sudden passing.
