Coronation Street fans livid as Imran Habeeb makes BIG mistake in his case against Corey Brent

CORONATION Street viewers were fuming at lawyer Imran Habeeb after his glaring error in Seb Franklin's murder trial.

The handyman – played by Harry Visinoni in the ITV soap – was killed in a hate crime after he was brutally attacked by Corey Brent's gang.

Corey (Maximum Evans) stepped up to the witness stand on Friday's episode to be cross-examined by Imran (Charlie de Melo).

Fans watched as Corey surprisingly burst into tears and tried to pin Seb's murder on Kelly Neelan.

For the first time, viewers saw Seb's attack in a flashback scene which showed Corey did in fact assault him.

During his testimony Corey claimed Kelly started attacking Seb and he was not able to stop her.

Imran pointed out that he was 12st and 6ft tall and should have been able to physically to hold back the 7st Kelly.

But Corrie fans thought there was another missed opportunity for Imran to call out Corey.

They took to Twitter to point out that Corey was a budding footballer, and therefore would've been a strong kick.

"Are we forgetting he knows how to kick, he kicks ball for county," wrote one fan.

Another added: "Corey is twice the size of Kelly, plays football and in his version of events somehow totally failed to pull her off Seb really?"

Their point was reinforced even further after Tommy Orpington was brought in as a character reference for Corey.

He said on the stand that Corey was great at breaking up fights between footballers on the pitch.

One fan wrote: "Ah so he is strong enough to break a fight between two fit lads but couldn’t get Kelly off seb yes that makes sense."

A second commented: "Corey can break up a fight between the players and yet says he couldn’t pull Kelly off of Seb? This is beyond frustrating."

And a third said: "Is no one ( #Imran?) gonna notice that the guy who stuck up for #Corey pointed out he broke up a fight between two players? Yet he said he couldn’t stop #Kelly from kicking Seb? Or is this part of the plan??."

Seb and his former-goth girlfriend Nina Lucas were picked on by the group for the way that the waitress decided to dress back in May.

Things turned nasty and Seb ended up in hospital, where he sadly died because of his injuries.

Ever since, Nina has been trying to remember what happened that night, while his mum Abi has been trying to prove that it Corey is the culprit behind the crime.

Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV
