Coronation Street’s Shona Ramsey (played by Julia Goulding) has been trying her best to remember aspects of her old life before her brain injury, but to no avail. She’s still rusty on the details and it’s put a lot of stain on her marriage to David Platt (Jack P Shepherd). Now, she’s got yet another shock in store for him during her journey to recovery in the ITV soap.
After a bumpy start and almost getting divorced, David and Shona have been getting on much better.
And his hopes that their marriage may withstand the test of time may have been restored, as Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) tells him Shona is more upbeat when he’s around.
Chuffed to bits, David can’t help but feel over the moon that his patience and Shona’s hard work might finally start to pay off and they can begin to rebuild their relationship.
In a bid to continue his quest for her affection, David arranges to take her for a walk later but it doesn’t go quite to plan.
With her lack of memory adding to the pressures she’s facing, Shona gets upset.
But as David tries to comfort her, she confesses that she’s totally aware that behaviour is unacceptable but she can’t seem to help how she acts.
Fans know that she forgets small details of ordinary life, like when she burnt herself after reaching for the oven tray without protective gloves.
But amid her break down, could she shock David with another uncontrollable action?
Could she make or break their relationship once again?
Shona recently left fans hoping that things were getting back to normal for her, as she seemed to remember pieces of information during a conversation with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).
Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) had issued Sarah with an ultimatum, demanding she choose between him and her ex Gary Windass (Mikey North), but his confidence was slashed as she found it difficult to choose.
Left looking for advice, Shona tried to offer her sister-in-law a shoulder to cry on as she pushed Sarah to fight for her marriage.
“David’s text gave me the juicy goss,” she admitted.
Bur viewers were left confused.
Taking to Twitter, someone else shared: “Shona #Corrie tonight showed a complete recovery from her devastating brain injury only weeks after having no usable memory. Who writes this stuff?”

A second said: “Shona back and so is her memories now? @itvcorrie #Corrie.”
“Shona seems well again #Corrie,” a third commented, surprised.
“I loved seeing Sarah & Shona scenes again Shona seemed to remember some things…. #corrie,” a fourth viewer gushed.
Another added: “@juliagoulding Shona seemed a lot more like her old self in this episode #Corrie.”
“Has Shona already forgot about her memory loss #Corrie,” someone else questioned.
It was highly confusing, but no, Shona’s memory hasn’t come back.
She still has a long way to go, but with David’s help and support, fingers crossed she’ll make a full recovery.
Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7pm on ITV.
