THEY have had to endure a painful split and a violent robbery in recent months – but Dele Alli and his stunning girlfriend Ruby Mae have never been stronger.
The pair, who first started dating in 2016, were recently pictured looking very loved-up on holiday in Mykonos.
The Tottenham star, 24, and his model partner, 26, couldn't keep their hands off each other on the break away – showing just how far they've come following a rollercoaster 18 months.
Now a source close to the couple tells Sun Online they're more in love than ever and still share an "insane chemistry" four-years in.
“These two adore each other – they’ve got everything they could ever dream of and the perfect person to share it all with," our source says.
"It goes way beyond the surface or anything superficial with them, their bond is something else.
"Obviously they fancy each other, but it’s more than that:they laugh lot, they’re both very funny and encourage each other and they click. They’re just really happy."
'His biggest fan' – by his side from the start
Dele and Ruby first went public with their romance four years ago, when the model and Instagram influencer was pictured kissing him in the stands following England's 2-1 loss to Iceland at Euro 2016.
And from that very first match, Ruby, who has modelled for Dolce & Gabbana, Hidden Fashion and Chanel, has gone on to be a firm fixture in the stands.
“Dele and Ruby support each other – they’re each other’s biggest fans," our source says.
“She had to get her head around the football world and the game and she’d go to every game she could before coronavirus… he valued that."
The couple have since gone on to enjoy luxury holidays together in Mykonos, Ibiza, and more sunny spots.
While they rarely share photos together on social media, they have given fans a few glimpses at their close bond over the years.
In April 2017 they posed for a photo together following Dele's PFA Young Player of the Year Award win.
And months later the pair spent Christmas together, with Ruby sharing a photo of them enjoying a night out with friends.
Meanwhile, Ruby was her man's biggest supporter at the FIFA World Cup the year after, and shared a photo of them cuddled up in England's World Cup camp, captioning it: "So proud."
She went on to wear an England shirt with his number 20 on it in the stands.
However, their romance hit rock bottom at the start of 2019…
How painful break-up 'brought them closer together'
The couple briefly split at the start of last year, with rumours emerging shortly after that Dele had moved on with Love Island beauty Megan Barton Hanson.
He is said to have told close pals at the time that after two-and-a-half years in a relationship, he wanted some time single.
However, while it was claimed he had swapped numbers with Megan, it didn't develop any further and he rekindled his romance with Ruby a few months afterwards.
He flew his other half to Spain for the Champions League final in the June, after telling her she was his “lucky charm” ahead of their crunch tie with Liverpool.
The pair then cemented their love with two luxury holidays away together – in Mykonos and Saint Tropez – the latter to celebrate her 25th birthday.
“The break-up and reunion brought them even closer," our source reveals.
"Of course it was awful when they split – more for Ruby – but he was as kind and considerate as you can be in these scenarios and they were always loosely in touch."
They have since been spending lockdown together at Alli's £2million lavish home in a gated development near Elstree, Hertfordshire.
Supporting each other in aftermath of robbery
The couple suffered a horrific ordeal during lockdown however when knife-wielding thugs forced their way into their home.
Dele was battered by the intruders and suffered minor facial injuries as the crooks made off with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and watches.
In the aftermath of the nightmare break-in, Ruby thanked fans for their support and described the robbery as a "horror of an experience".
She wrote: "Thank you to everyone for reaching out, a horror of an experience but we are all safe."
Now the horrendous ordeal has only brought the couple closer, as they lean on each other for much-needed support.
“They’ve been through a lot this year, the robbery incident was horrific, but if anything that ordeal brings you closer, the shared trauma and the after effects remind you of what matters and who you love," our source says.
"Being in lockdown together strengthened things too, it was just about the simple things and having loads of time to mess around, be happy and be together, their relationship took a new turn for the best."
Just last month Dele wished Ruby a happy 26th birthday by surprising her with huge flowers and an impressive cake.
Ruby was left delighted by Alli's romantic gesture, which included some stunning pink flowers that spelled out her name.
She posted the display on her Instagram story and wrote: "He loves me @dele."
'He champions her and loves her independence'
While Ruby is always in the stands supporting Dele – he's also supported her own modelling and fashion career from the start too.
"She’s been with him long enough now to know the highs and lows [of football] and what to say to him. And he does the same for her, he really champions her," out source explains.
Ruby has established herself as a high-profile model with a host of big-name brands, as well as being an avid Instagrammer.

“[Dele] is into his fashion as well as looking good on social media so he respects her world of fashion and beauty too," the source adds.
"But she doesn’t take herself too seriously and that’s why he loves her, she’s just fun and a laugh, not a princess… she’s independent too and has her own career and life – all of that he just finds so attractive."
'Down to Earth and crazy for each other'
And while the pair have a huge fortune between them, they both still have both feet firmly on the ground – enjoying home comforts and less formal nights out together too.
“Lot of men are intimidated by her beauty but he wasn’t and he approached her while she was having dinner and she liked his directness, there wasn’t any drama it just unfolded how it was meant to," our source says.
“They can live the high life of going to all the expensive sushi places in London – but he also loves a Nandos.
"Dele obviously trains for work and Ruby was into gymnastics, so fitness is important for both of them.
“She’s down to earth – she grew up wanting to work with animals and Dele didn’t have it easy growing up, but he’s relaxed around her and it just works… He’s crazy about Ruby and she is him.”
