It won’t be the first time that Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) has intervened in her son Vinny Ashdale’s (Bradley Johnson) relationship with troubled Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) in Emmerdale – and it’s clear it won’t be the last.
Mandy has made it clear on many an occasion that she doesn’t think Liv is good for her son and she fears that she may lead him down a dark road.
Her fears return following Liv’s self destructive behaviour which led to her being arrested by police when Lydia (Karen Blick) became concerned she may be a danger to herself and others.
As she determines to stop them seeing each other, Mandy decides to take action.
Liv is stunned as Mandy demands that she cut all contact with Vinny. Vinny wrongly assumes Chas (Lucy Pargeter) was the one interfering between him and Liv. Will Mandy tell the truth?
If Vinny were to find out that she had put her oar in it again, he would likely be as furious as last time.
His feelings for Liv are strong and he wants to support her as she goes through her troubles – and has her day in court which could lead to her being jailed.
Will he disown Mandy when he finds out she is the one who has forced Liv to abandon him?
Meanwhile, Liv’s troubles of her own reach a head but Aaron (Danny Miller) is on the brink of disowning her in the wake of Ben’s death.
As Liv fears she will be left alone to deal with the hearing, Aaron agonises over whether to show face as he believes he and his sister are negative auras to one another.
But will he change his mind and return to the hearing? And what will Liv’s verdict be?
