Emmerdales Paige Sandhu lets slip that fans could see Meena’s downfall very soon

Emmerdale fans have been following the terrifying exploits of the village's resident serial Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) since she murdered Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) back in the summer.

She's had a great run – if you can call it that – so far, having killed off Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) and Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon) in recent months, but every soap fan knows that all villains get their comeuppance sooner or later.

When we caught up with Paige for a stunning Christmas shoot alongside on-screen sister Rebecca Sarker, she exclusively let slip an exciting spoiler to OK! – revealing that fans "could see Meena's downfall very, very soon."

Paige managed to stay impressively tight-lipped about the whole thing, but unveiled some interesting nuggets of information about Meena's impending downfall.

"So I would say what I can tease is that everything that we've seen for Meena so far is small fish to what she's going to be doing to people from Christmas day onwards," Paige explained.

She continued: "She gets more and more outlandish with her behaviour and I think that's when people start to go, 'Okay, something's really going on here.'"

Paige explained that one of Meena's "downfalls" is that "she feels more and more invincible and like no one's ever going to catch her."

The actress previously warned that Meena will go "too far" in an "unexpected" Christmas twist.

In an interview with Metro, the actress teased: "She does go really far. Too far. I read the script and thought: 'She does what?' Think of the worst thing and then times it by 10, that’s what she does! She will do anything to get what she wants.

"There’s nothing that’s out of bounds for her because she doesn’t feel guilty about doing anything, and she doesn’t believe that laws and bad things apply to her. She gets to do whatever she wants. She’s indestructible."

Speaking more about the Christmas episodes, Paige added: "We got to do some really cool stuff that you don’t do in your average Emmerdale episode, or average show. So that was really fun.

"I hope that the audience will like it. I definitely don’t think they’ll expect what’s coming."
