Ian Beale's exit storyline finally revealed in EastEnders?

Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) in EastEnders being the identity of Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) attacker has led to a gruesome and horrific revenge plan that’s seeing Sharon poison her oldest friend, after discovering Ian’s involvement in the moments before Dennis’ (Bleu Landau) death.

Last year, it was announced that Adam Woodyatt would be leaving the show for a temporary break.

With Sharon hellbent on destroying Ian, just how will he leave EastEnders?

Does Ian die?

At any given opportunity Sharon has managed to poison Ian, watching her husband’s health deteriorate and become a shell of who he was before he was attacked. Coming up, Sharon puts the finishing touches to her ‘final dinner’ aka her deadly revenge plan, so in the aftermath next week, will we discover Sharon has killed Ian through lacing his food and drink with poison?

A mere glance at a photo of her son is enough to spur Sharon on whenever she’s feeling an ounce of guilt towards poisoning Ian, and with Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) fearing Ian is dead in upcoming scenes, could Sharon really have gone as far as killing him?

Does Ian escape?

Recent scenes have seen Max (Jake Wood) become suspicious of what Sharon is doing to Ian. Max encouraged Ian to get a toxicology test this week, despite the fact that Ian was adamant Sharon would never hurt him.

If Ian starts to suspect Max is right and Sharon is trying to see an end to him, will he escape Walford before Sharon can dig her claws in any deeper?

Does Ian end up in a coma?

Adam Woodyatt’s exit is only temporary, which means it’s likely his final scenes could see Ian end up in a coma thanks to Sharon’s poisoning and his deteriorating health.

If Ian does end up in a coma, how will Sharon worm her way out of people suspecting she’s done something? As well as Max, Kathy is also aware something fishy is going on between Sharon and Ian, will Max and Kathy work out what Sharon has done if Ian ends up in a coma for weeks?

Furthermore, if Ian ends up in a coma after Sharon’s deadly dinner, when he wakes up it will certainly be interesting to see whether Ian has figured out what his oldest and best friend has been doing to him…

Does Ian go missing?

Given this week’s scenes, Max’s suspicions and Kathy wondering what Sharon is up to, it is highly likely that Ian has figured out what Sharon has been planning, and has gone missing to put a stop to Sharon destroying him any further.

If Sharon figures out that Ian has gone disappeared and her plan hasn’t worked as well as she’d hoped, could Ian plan something to get back at Sharon while he’s away from Walford?

Will Ian be held hostage?

Poisoning your best friend is certainly a dark and low move, but there are surprises around every corner when it comes to Sharon at the moment, and given Ian has been a bit of a ‘cockadoodie dirty birdie’ after all, it’s possible Sharon could go one step further, and re-enact the film Misery and hold Ian hostage in a room in the pub…

Next week, it becomes apparent that Ian has gone missing, but if Sharon’s grief and anger towards Ian gets the better of her, holding him hostage certainly seems plausible.

Will Sharon continue to poison Ian while he’s locked in a room somewhere?

Just how much torture lies ahead for this businessman ahead of his final scenes?
