JD McCrary, 12, made over £4k a day playing young Simba in The Lion King

We all knew Disney was going to make a lot of money from their epic live-action remake of The Lion King so it’s nice to see that that company was happy to pay the stars of the film accordingly.

Child actor JD McCrary bagged the role of a lifetime as the voice of young Simba, and he was reportedly paid $5,000 (£4,000) for each day he worked on the flick.

Oh, and he also earnt $50,000 (£40,000) for being the lead singer on I Just Can’t Wait To Be King, while pocketing $15,000 (£12,000) for his part on Hakuna Matata.

According to TMZ, the 12-year-old can also look forward to receiving his share of royalties from the soundtrack album.

JD is already making huge waves in his blossoming career after playing young Michael Jackson in American Soul, as well as recently appearing in Regina Hall’s hit comedy, Little.

And the talented actor is hoping his career will continue to see him showing what he’s got.
